XXX SUPPORTED VOLUNTEERING SCHEME JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Responsible to: Salary: Hours of Work: Scheme Assistant Volunteer Development Officer (also known as Supported Volunteering Placement Officer) xx per hour 14 hours per week, flexible by arrangement. Occasional unsocial hours working may be necessary (e.g. to attend evening or weekend events). No payment will be made for any overtime worked. Time off in lieu will be taken instead. This post will be based at the office of XXX, although there may be occasional visits or meetings off site. This is a 1 year funded post (with the possibility of being extended if further funding becomes available.) There is a probationary period of 6 months.

Background & Overall Purpose of Post: The main purpose of this post is to support the Volunteer Development Officer in maintaining the development of the Supported Volunteering Scheme. The Scheme aims to assist people with mental health issues to volunteer in a range of settings thereby helping to increase confidence, skills and social networks. The post-holder will provide a wide range of administrative and organisational support for the XXX, working with people registered with the Scheme and dealing with initial enquiries and referrals, as well as liaising with other agencies (statutory and voluntary). The post-holder will be expected to assist with the promotion of the Scheme and participate in various events, such as training courses, information and promotional events, whether these be XXX specific or those of XXX (e.g. XXX Day events). In addition to having a good standard of computer literacy, including experience of working with databases, the post-holder will need to be approachable, adaptable, have some awareness of issues that affect people with mental health problems, and able to work effectively as a member of a team in a busy office. It is not essential for the post-holder to have access to their own transport for the purposes of this role, although any travel and other - expenses reasonably incurred in their duties will be subject to either reimbursement or mileage payment. SUPPORTED VOLUNTEERING SCHEME SCHEME ASSISTANT Job Description - Key Responsibilities:

To provide administrative and general clerical support to the Volunteering Development Officer (Supported Volunteering Placement Officer); Respond to initial enquiries and referrals by compiling and sending out volunteer registration packs; Ensure the database of volunteers and other relevant records are regularly updated and stored Assist the Volunteering Development Officer in the identification, and monitoring, of placements for Supported Volunteers; Assist in the implementation, of suitable follow up procedures; Promote and help run group support sessions, such as monthly drop in meetings; support projects within the XXX, such as Chat & Sort; Assist in the organisation of volunteer training , e.g. Introduction to Volunteering; Co-ordination of mailings to volunteers, placement providers etc; Assist the Volunteer Development Officer in the development of information for volunteers, e.g. handbooks, guidance notes; Liaise with all other XXX projects; Liaise with other volunteer projects and external agencies; Work as a member of the XXX team, to liaise with people at all levels of the organisation and other key partners; To work in accordance with all XXX policies and procedures; To carry out other duties as required that are commensurate with the post, such as admin support to other XXX projects if and when needed.
