Comments He was loads more personable than any other speaker I saw. Excellent work. Brilliant! Very charming and informative Best presented talk I've seen so far Dead space is a dark game, which is great! But... the presentation slides had a white background containing the beautuful but dark screenshots. As a ui guy, you can see the problem? How about a gray screen back? :-) Great speaker, loved the stories from within the studio. Well balanced presentation. Visuals to help understand decisions were dead on. Great presentator and great presence. A must see guy. Excellent story Great talk very insightful. Great presenter style. Thanks for the new words! Loved the personal moments and discovery from the franchise. Entertaining really awesome Very informative and well presented with confidence and humor. Definitely valuable information to bring back to my game design students. The combination of experiences and procedure as well as the workflow of what did or did not work was very effective! Awesome chat. Loved it! Pretty cool talk. Nicely walking us through years of your work. This was one of the best sessions of the whole GDC this year. There was SO MUCH information compressed into an hour that it was almost too much. The precentation was nicely structured and it was cool to see so much art (especially the unused stuff). + I loved the kitty ;) Excellent presenter (engaging with a very clear message). Great to hear about the challenges and choices of how to create great game UI. Inspiring and informative. Will definitely recommend colleagues to watch the video from the vault. Great talk!

the talk could have had a better wrap up to provide take away lessons and tie all the great talking pouts from the talk together. Best session on UI Good session, great to see the early concepts. Shame there were no movies showing the ui work too Excellent humor and description of how designing ui went along. Great structure for the session Really loved to see the process and different iterations for the ui as well as all of the elements that would eventually come together. It was also really nice to see the concept work from the artists This was excellent. Thank you Dino! I love how you broke down what failed and what your best takeaways were as well as what went beautifully. Learning from our mistakes and how to listen to the user is such a critical part of UI design. It's nice to see someone so talented own that. The content in the talk was incredibly valuable and dino is an excellent and engaging speaker. My favorite talk this year! Amazing and informative. Great speaker Really interesting look into the process. Learned new words. I wish this was less showing off that it looked cool and more about the process of how and why it evolved Really interesting. Would like to see more of this. Dino was a charming, entertaining speaker with a good story to tell about an interesting subject. Perfect! Just what I came to GDC for. Fantastic talk. Showed a lot of great examples of the iterative processes that influenced the UI design of the Dead Space franchise and how it evolved. Great insight on the UI design process and tricks of the trade. This was one of the best talks at the show. It was fun, enlightening, interesting and very thought provoking with regards to UI design and trickery one can use to get it all done. This was one of the best presentations at GDC this year. Hi Dino! It was good to see you again. Hope you keep coming up with stuff to give talks about. Meant to introduce you to my friend Joe Kowalski, who was the UI guy on Guitar Hero, Rock Band and Brutal Legend. Hope you guys have a chance to meet up some time. Loved the style of the talk and I would enjoy hearing more about the evolution of UIs in any game. I would have enjoyed hearing more in-depth analysis of why certain aspects of the UI were changed though what was said was still very interesting! Thanks for the great talk~ Very insightful and Dino's confidence in speaking to a crowd was excellent. I enjoyed the talk. The walkthrough of the "whys" for the design were very helpful to me. :) Excellent speaker. SUPERB! Entertaining anecdotes and plenty of visual examples made the information memorable... overall, an enjoyable and informative presentation!

Good speaker and energy, although I thought the talk could have gone a little more behind-the-scenes. It was mostly just presenting things you could see in the games. fantastic talk, I would love to hear more from this speaker. Dino was awesome! An excellent talk about the philosophy, theme and self-imposed restrictions the Dead Space team gave themselves. Very interesting to see how the interfaces came about, with early sketches and prototypes, and why they did it that way. I had a lot of assumption going into this talk, thinking that it's relatively easy to reverse-engineer something that works really well and take things from it, but I still came out blown-away by what I learned, what was completely new to me, and the ingenious ways the UI team stole the Dead Space show 3 games in a row. Important work, that. It'll resonate in the industry for a good while. This guy is AMAZING! He was very entertaining...loved the Cat intermission thing, and his meat and blood debacle in Dead Space to try and save money on the interface background was hilarious! Please make sure you invite him back! Would have loved to see more examples using video Really enjoyed Dino's enthusiasm and skill. Definitely invite back This was one of my favorite talks this year. Thank you for the wonderful insight into the UI and how it evolved throughout the series! Really interesting topic, his presentation went in depth on the entire series and included a lot of behindthe-scenes content and context. Also, a really personable and confident public speaker, he had a good rapport with the room. Great talk, learned LOTS (like... new words like Diegetic, and Skeuomorphs). Great forethought and execution. Very inspirational. Incredible talk. God bless this guy! Very enjoyable and informative. Very good speaker and presentation was entertaining and informative It was very informative when the speaker explained the graphic design terminology in relation to the main focus of the talk Really excellent session. For a first talk, it was a great talk ! Dino did a wonderful job of showing that cohesion is so important, I wish that message was broadcast to everyone in the game industry. Thanks also for the honesty about the difficulties of using particles-as-UI (!) and the problems you ran into with the Bench. I personally find stories about how people encountered and tried to solve problems the best takeaways.
