students that different places in North America have different features and landscapes. 2. Students will watch a video on North America: http://www.natgeoeducationvideo.com/film/1073/north-america. This video talks about the geographic features in North America. During the video I will stop and we will discuss what the video is saying, (Since the video is a little more mature). I will ask students: What is located in the West? What are they called? What are they called in Mexico? What are the mountains called on the east coast?

3. In whole group we will discuss the geographic features of North America. We will label each part, forest, desert, mountain, on the map so that students know where each thing is located. 4. With a partner, students will color in a Map of the United States and the geographic features. 5. CLOSURE: Students will do a ticket out the door and answer the question: What is one geographic feature in North America? (I will give students an example of a geographic feature). F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? I will use the ticket out the door to measure student understanding. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. I will know that students understand the concepts from the lesson if they can give me the correct answer to one geographic feature in North America that they learned about. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think the easiest part of the lesson to teach is what continent the students live on. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? I think the most challenging thing to teach will be the geographic features in North America.

3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? Students will take their map that they colored home and discuss what they learned with their parents/guardian or sibling. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? For students that dont grasp the concept they can ask me questions and I will answer them. Students will also be partnered with someone so their partner can help them out if needed. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I might want to add one more activity for students to do where they can label all of North America and not just the United States. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part? The most difficult part of writing this lesson was finding a video on North America because I didnt want it to be a video that didnt have enough content, but I also didnt want it to be a video where it was hard for students to understand what it was talking about.
