HARVEST BAPTIST CHURCH PRAYER DIARY SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE TIMES 9:00 & 10:45A.M.

MONDAYEVANGELISTIC PRAYER Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Kings 4-6; Luke 23:1-28 Monday, May 6 Rom. 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Blood-Giving Savior: Before the cross, the Old Testament saints were saved on credit. They got carried to paradise and Abrahams bosom, not because they had faith in the Son, but because God had faith in his Son. Had not you finished the work on the cross, surely they would have had to leave that shining space and suffer personally for their own sins. This is why Moses and Elijah appeared on the mount of transfiguration and talked to Jesus Luke 9:31 of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem. But you did go on to the cross. You did suffer in my stead. You did accomplish all the work, because you cried, It is finished. And under an oath and a covenant of blood, you secured an eternal dwelling place for your redeemed. You made my mansion safe in glory land. Thank you, Jesus! Make one for _________. Eph. 4:8 Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. In the gloomy caverns and depths of hell, that declaration It is finished, had its first effect. Satan bit his iron bands in rage, as the captivity he presided over was taken captive by Christ. Lost souls mourned that day because they said, It is finished! If Christ the Substitute could not be allowed to go free until he suffered the complete payment, then we will never be free! Justice that would not let the very Son of God to escape will never allow us to be at liberty. It is finished with him, so it will never be finished with us. The cross consolidated heaven, cracked hell, comforted earth, contented the Father, glorified the Son, brought down the Spirit, and saved all who believe! A DAILY PATTERN FOR PRAYER & BIBLE READING Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Kings 13-15; Luke 24:27-53 Thursday, May 9 Eph. 4:15 But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: O soul, are you weary and troubled? No light in the darkness you see? Theres a light for a look at the Savior, And life more abundant and free! Through death into life everlasting He passed, and we follow Him there; Over us sin no more hath dominion For more than conquerors we are! His Word shall not fail youHe promised; Believe Him, and all will be well: Then go to a world that is dying, His perfect salvation to tell! Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace. Helen H. Lemmel, 1922 TUESDAYFOCUS ON CHRISTS LIFE Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Kings 7-9; Luke 23:29-56 Tuesday, May 7 Matt. 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force. Dear Lord, My Savior: Let me be like the nobleman in John 4:49not only earnest in praying but also persistent in my prayer. If I ask once and receive an apparent rebuff, I will not turn aside and pout. No, but I will ask again, Sir, come down. I dont know how the nobleman said it, but Im sure he prayed in soul-stirring terms, because he was asking for the life of his child. Lord, is there anything I can say to get you to come? My only best argument is a Fathers affection. If my lips are not eloquent, then let the tears of my eyes take the place of words from my mouth. Let seeking faith make me pray mighty prayers. I want to plead with God with all the power of Jacob wrestling at the Jabbok (Gen 32:24-32). I want to take hold of the pillars of the gate of mercy like Samson, and rock them to and fro. I would as soon pull them up as go away without gaining entrance! No wonder those who come before you with cold prayers never find peace. Heat me red-hot in the furnace of desire so I can burn my way to heaven! I would not say with the dull, chilly formality of legalism, God be merciful to me a sinner. No. I cry to you today in the burning anguish of soul. GIVE ME A PRAYER REVIVAL! Save me or I perish. I will concentrate my soul in every word. I will fling the violence of my being into every sentence. I will take the kingdom by force. Holy Ghost, stir my heart and heat my prayers today. Help me shake the pillars of mercy and find grace to help in time of need (and in the nick of time). Do it in Jesus name and because he purchased it. Amen. FRIDAY CORPORATE PRAYER MINISTRY Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Kings 16-18; John 1:1-25 Friday, May 10 Title of Psalm 142 Maschil of David; A Prayer when he was in the cave. King All-Glorious: If David prayed half as much when he was later in the castle as he did when he was in the cave, maybe he would not have fallen in sin with Bathsheba. If he looked up to heaven with his heart in communion with you, maybe he would not have looked down from the roof and been tempted. He committed a crime that injured the kingdom and greatly stained his character. Lord, save us from that! Let us each pray daily even as Jesus taught us, Matt. 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: Our God is not God of the hills only, but also of the valleys. He hears us wherever we are in our journey. Therefore, there is no excuse to fall and fail in the valley mid-week, after we went to the mountaintop on Sunday. When we work or are at home we can pray, as much as when we are directly involved in ministry. There is no place we can be banished where God is not near. There is no time when your throne is inaccessible. Some cave-walls have heard the best prayers. Some of us shine brightest in the darkest spot. Many of us never pray so well as when driven by desperation. Gods high praises go up easily from the fire of affliction, even if we did not praise him before the trial came. David was to be king. We are to be Christs bride. What was the way to the throne? Through the humiliation of the cave of Adullam. And when you are about to take us to the next level, you often first cast us downdown in spirit, down in finances, down in health, down in discouraging news. You make us hungry before you feed us. Jacob only became a prince with God after the angel crippled him. No wonder then, we go by the way of the cave to pray. Amen. WEDNESDAYREVIVAL PRAYING Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Kings 10-12; Luke 24:1-26 Wednesday, May 8 Col. 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; King of My Soul: The first word on prayer is continue. Why? 1. Because my prayers are your intentions 2. Because my blessings are in answer to my asking Because the Spirit moves to save souls in response to my interceding 3. Long have I thrown-out the life preserver to some people. Let me toss it out again. Every prayer for them is a fresh opportunity. It may well be this is the last time I will have a chance to pray for their salvation. Not my prayer, but grace will do the work! Yet, 2 Cor. 6:1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 4. Because prayer is my weapon to attack falsehood and wickedness I am sure Lord, I do not believe you are doing as much as you really are. Let the Holy Spirit for once give me a little more faith and confidence you are giving us revival, because if I believe that, then I will continue in prayer. The second word on payer is watch. Why? 1. Because I will soon be asleep if I do not watch Joshua fought the battle and his hand was not weary, but Moses was praying on the mountain and his hand grew heavy. Prayer is such spiritual workand I am so unspiritualthat the effect of prayer on my nature is to make me drowsy unless I am watching in prayer. 2. Because as soon as I start to pray, enemies start to attack If my motto is pray for revival, then the Adversarys order is attack. Help me watch while I pray, and pray for revival today. Amen. SATURDAYIN THE PSALMS Chronological Bible Reading: 2 Kings 19-21; John 1:26-51 Saturday, May 11 Psa. 14:7 Oh that the salvation of Israel were come out of Zion! when the LORD bringeth back the captivity of his people, Jacob shall rejoice, and Israel shall be glad. LORD God and Loving Father: Let me not be laughed-out of my confidence in you. Instead, let me scorn the scorners scorning, and defy their foolish jeers. Luke 18:7 And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? What could more effectively convince an atheist, more effectively halt my haters, and more effectively stop sin and secure godliness, than the salvation of your people at their cry? How many of us cry to you today from lands all over the globe! We look for you to come. Come today with healing in my life, and Lord, may you come very soon to catch away your bride! Psa. 15:1 LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? Considering the law, no one can dwell with you, because none of us lives up to the qualifications. Let me learn today, from the Lord of the tabernacle, what the true requirements of entrance are. Only my spotless Lord Jesusand those who are conformed to his imageget in! Make me more like Jesus today. Perfect holiness is found only in the Man of Sorrows, but in a measure the Holy Ghost develops it in each one of us who are his people. I am only right if I am upright in walk and downright honest. My faith shows itself by good works. Help me not follow evileven in the secret closet of my heartfor you are there to listen. Jesus is my mirror of sincerity and true holiness. Make me more like him as we go into a weekend of worship and praise to the Lamb of God. For his sake I ask it. Amen.

TIMEWORSHIP Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

GIVE GOD THE FIRST PART OF EVERY DAY. The first commitment is to a daily quiet time with God. Our weekly Prayer Diary provides a template for daily devotions. 2) TITHEWORK 1 Cor 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DIME OF EVERY DOLLARno questions asked. Ten percent is a miniscule amount in our affluent society, but it must come off the top in order to show that God is our priority. We want the blessing of the firstfruits (first devotion, first dime and first day) to flow out to the rest of our resources. 3) TEAMWORD Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK. You should fellowship with a group of believers around the word of God every Sunday in our church.

Baptists tend to ridicule liturgical churches that use "prepared prayers" because they lack spontaneity. But for many Baptists, their prayers are so predictable they are no more spontaneous than written-out prayers. The result is we end up praying the same things over and over. This daily Prayer Diary will prompt you on a wide range of prayer requests you might not normally think of, while forcing you to articulate a deeper devotion to God. We have included a daily Bible reading schedule. This plan will take you through the Bible chronologically in a year. Do not read ahead and do not try to catch up. Use each day as it comes. Then you can know that on any given day, dozens of other people are lifting their hearts in the same mind to God. Pray what is written, but use what is prayed as a springboard for your own relationship with God. You learn to pray by praying. Alan

6:30P.M. Ladies Missionary Support TEAM room 6 Secret prayer is the secret of prayer, the soul of prayer, the seal of prayer, the strength of prayer. If you do not pray alone you do not pray at all. Our Lord Jesus Christ would go nowhere till He had prayed. He would attempt nothing till He had prayed. Oh, says one, I live in the spirit of prayer, and therefore I do not need times and seasons for prayer. And do you think that Christ did not live in the spirit of prayer? Yet He had to have his special time and place to pray. Do not fall under the injurious notion that because your spirit cries to God in prayer all day long, therefore there must not be some season for more immediately coming into Gods presence. If you imagine this, I am afraid that it will prove a snare to your feet. The Lord Jesus Christ, who knew better than you do that the main thing is the spirit of prayer rather than the act of prayer, yet Himself retired into desert places to maintain the act and exercise of prayer. Be spiritual. Be baptized into the spirit of prayer. But do not be deceived by the enemy, who can steal a spirit away while we dream that we only spiritualize it. We had better preserve the very bones of prayerthe posture, the time, placerather than let it all ooze away into an impalpable mental condition. God keep us prayerful. He will do so if He makes us like His dear Son. Charles H. Spurgeon, 1834-92
