I put my heart and my soul into my work, and have lost my mind in the process. Vincent Van Gogh. In this essay I want to share my deepest respect and admiration towards determined folks, brave hunters of their dreams that have nothing but true passion that ends up being pure strength. I read a book about Vincents life and I fell in love with him, I have no doubt he will always be a remarkable inspiration for me. Vincent had a really low self steam, he felt he wasnt good at anything; he tried to be a priest, but he failed, he did not had luck with any of his sentimental relationships and his painting wasnt appreciated during all his lifetime. His father was a rector of the church that was constantly upset about Vincent who lived among different towns like Etten, La Haya and Nuenen. He liked to interact with people who often rejected him, but hell rather shape spaces and scenes after getting to know what was really going on. At first he had the support of his family, but later on, he suffered terrible starivings. His younger brother, Theodore, was the only person who showed concerned about him providing economical support. Though his painting didnt gave Vincent what people thought was vital and crucial, his work end up to being his only motivation, his only lover and his reason of living. He said once: Empty pockets never held anyone back. Only empty heads and empty hearts can do that. Obviously it must had been difficult to feel useless, rejected, dismissed and not capable even when he was doing his best effort, its incredible to see how spite of it, he kept going like nothing could stop him. That courage just makes me admire him more. If you hear a voice within you say 'you cannot paint,' then by all means paint, and that voice will be silenced. Vincent felt at home until one of the last stages of his life in Paris, when he joined a community of communist artists where he met mile Bernard , Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, and making a solid friendship with Paul Gauguin, Georges Pierre Seurat, Paul Signac, Armand Guillaumin, Camille Pissarro, Paul Czanne that shared his same ideology. Vincent had always struggled with reality, but he had the incredible capacity and gift of accepting it. The more I think about it, the more I realize there is nothing more artistic than to love others. They understood perfectly that mistakes make life beautiful, they prefer painful truths than adorable lies. And they were certain that ugliness being precious because it is part of nature.
