INTRODUCTION

In recent years too much has been said issues related to social problems involving teens. Various assumptions, arguments, proposals, programs and activities to address the social problems arise. Negative social behaviour in the form of social deviant should not be is an indication of the weakness of society to cultivate a positive development that is based on the principles and values of humanity and religion.Teenagers often become the focus of discussions of the scholars, policy makers and members of the public especially when it comes to issues of social problems. Such attention is becoming more apparent in recent years because many social problems associated with lifestyle and behaviour of young adults.

Who are the teenagers? According to the Kamus Dewan, teenager means puberty. While from the perspective of psychology, adolescence is a transitional period lasting from childhood to adulthood is full of conflicts (Mahmood 1990). Youth category can be divided into three early adolescence, mid-teens and late teens. Early teens and mid-teens is a category which is still at an early stage to identify the meaning of life. Thats mean; youngsters should be seen in a long transition period, which is not necessarily free from stress and many obstacles life conflict (Chais, 1976).

In adolescence, the individual experienced change in the physical, emotional and social problems. At this time the youth began to be vulnerable to the social environment, change the behavior, attitudes and values, but the whole way of life from childhood to the world a more mature and adult (Bettelheim, 1950). Nevertheless, social problems among youth are one of the threats to human resources that will affect the nation in the long run.

Generally, the collapse of morality includes varieties of negative behaviours that do not lead members of the community and gain the strength of support systems and economic structures in a society. Some of social problems under the heading of moral decadence and moral teens at this time are related to the drugs, the issue of street gangs, bullying issues, sex issues, and so forth. This issue has become a major issue in mass media and electronic media. Teenagers issues also need to be emphasized because of the rise and fall of a nation is depends on how the government organization and non-governmental organizations play a role to overcome the collapse of morality among the youth.

DRUG ABUSE SOCIAL PROBLEMS

What are Drugs? Drugs are substances or chemicals which is very harmful to the individual because it change the way of the human mind and body work. The definition of drug abuse is a 'misuse of drugs' or 'drug abuse'. Drug is a specific term that refers to a substance that cause health problems includes physical, mental, emotional and behaviour of consumers when used. The consequence of this, a person who is involved with drugs will become addicted and will be directly dependent on it.Drugs can be categorized into few types of opiates like Opium, Morphine, Heroin, codeine, synthetic opiates, stimulants such as amphetamines, Methamphetamine, Cocaine, MDMA, marijuana, such as herbal cannabis, hashish, hashish oil, a hallucinogenic. Depresen as depresen Drug, Alcohol, GHB, ketamine and drugs or the misuse of material, such as steroids, glue, petrol, leaf density, drugs.

Drug Abuse Statistic Drug addiction remains the country's first enemy to date. Although a bit

overwhelming to associate this drug with the symptoms of collapse character, but all because of the moral phenomena that are not managed by wise until a person is plunged into the valley of this destruction. Statistics of total drug clearly shows that this problem is very dangerous and needs to be addressed on an ongoing basis. Based on the sources revealed by National Anti-Drug Agency, Ministry of Internal Security, 2007, Penang had the largest

number of drug addicts which includes 6,685 people followed by Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (6,073), Kedah (4,593) and Kelantan (3,625). According to the source was also
found 72.62 percent of the arrested is majority of young people aged 25-29 years, 71.35 per cent which is then detected are young Malay Muslims, 79.56 percent educated at least Form 3, 91.48 percent have jobs (the majority were general labourers).

3.0

REASONS OF DRUG ABUSE

From studies of delinquency have found extensive linkages with the community, family, knowledge, religion, education level, home environment, outside influences, media, entertainment, self-esteem, friends and others. When the collapse of adolescent problem discussed common questions is who is to be blame and why did this happen? Due to data and statistics presented above, it is evident moral issues among teenagers still at a high level. Moral decline can be seen from various angles. Among the causes identified are as follows:

Curiosity Teenagers are people aged 21 years and below. At this age, they have a high

curiosity. Thus whatever new things happening around them will invite curiosity among them. It is indirectly making them feel compelled to try and do the things they should not. So teenage curiosity will drive them to do what they want to do without thinking about good or bad effects.

3.2

Influence of Peers Peers play important role to all the teenagers. Good friends can guide them to do the

good things, but if they wrongly choose peers, it will influence them to the wrong way. In addition, the behaviour of teenagers also contributes to social problems. Sometimes they are simply put trust on the others. Influence in schools is important in the moral formation of youth.

3.3

Influence of Media The media also contributed to the occurrence of social problems among teenagers.

They are easily influence by irreverent dress and lifestyle of western youth. 3.4 Family Attitude The family institution is important to help prevent the youth from falling into the trap of social problems. The most important is the religious education. Teens will not simply act a bad thing if they had strong religious based. In this case the role of parents is very important, especially as a model to the children. Parent should not make busy on works as an excuse to take care of their children. They must spend quality time with their children. Parents should have the time to communicate and to know about their children activities. 4.0 EFFECT DRUG ABUSE

4.1

Impact Drug Addicts would stay away from the community and interact only with the drugs

friends. They will become thin, weak, lazy and look like in the other world. Their antibodies will become weak and susceptible to diseases such as tetanus, hepatitis, tuberculosis, HIV / AIDS eventually lead to death.

4.2

Impact Family Bring down the good name and dignity of the family. Family burden due to spend

time, energy and a helter disorder. The relationship among family will break down and the spouse may divorce. 4.3 Impact of Community Unity, progress and development of affected communities. In addition, conflicts and misunderstandings between people happen to threat public order.

4.4

Impact of Country Countries will incur high costs due to drug abuse as a result of the cost of providing

treatment and rehabilitation of drug, maintain drug prevention program next state will also incur losses as a result of crimes that occur. 5.0 HOW TO ADDRESS DRUG ABUSE

5.1

Law Enforcement By section 3 of the Dangerous Drugs Act which came into force in June 1988, the

government is bound to be authorized to detect and confiscate property of drug dealers. With the enforcement of this law, bring awareness to the public not to be trapped in trafficking activity and drug addiction. 5.2 Campaign Anti-Drug Campaign held in various places such as in school anti-drug logo design competition was held, drawing on the impact of drug addiction and an essay about the drug. 5.3 The role of LAM Drug Prevention Association of Malaysia (LAM) is a body responsible for drug addiction problem in Malaysia. 5.4 Youth Program Youth program was introduced to prevent young people from stuck with unproductive activities. The program also provides benefits and improves the discipline in producing quality youth. 5.5 Role of Media The mass media is a mechanism that has a huge influence and effect on the formation of human personality. Through the mass media can actually be a vehicle for "Domination and cultural imperialism" with a variety of advanced information technology channels such as Internet, multimedia and so on.

Role of Society The community must work together to combat drug abuse by providing cooperation

to the authorities subsequently receive addicts who want to return to the path.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, social problems among Malaysians should be taken into consideration by all stages of community by playing their role affectively . Even if this does not handled in a wise and careful planning will certainly threaten national security as elements of social problems can be upset towards the destruction of a person. This is one of the issues and challenge that the leader and all parties to ensure the country and the people really 55 years of independence meets excellence. The young generation today are the one who responsible to fulfil and achieve the target of vision 2020.
