How many bushels are you shooting for? We had one of our fields average 75.4 bushels last year and one of our customers had a field run over 86 bushels with parts of the field showing over 100 bushels! I mention those numbers not to boast, but to tell you if we can do it then you certainly can too. The genetics in our Hefty Brand soybean lineup have 100 bushel potential and beyond, and our agronomy staff has the answers youre looking for to increase your yields significantly this year. So shoot for your best yields ever this year and count on Hefty Brand Soybeans to perform in your fields.
When soybean prices are high, picking great-yielding varieties is more important than ever if you want to maximize your profit. Heres the problem, though: Every year is different, and most soybean varieties are 2 years old or less. How can you really find the best products on the market? First, we suggest planting at least 3 or 4 different varieties on the farm and matching those beans to your different soil types, field conditions, tillage practices, and planting dates. Then, work with a company and agronomists you can trust. There are plenty of other good companies and people out there, but I love our agronomy staff, and Darren and I personally spend a tremendous amount of time with them talking about how to raise better soybeans. Our goal is always for you to get the best yields and earn the most possible income. Ive been so excited by all the reports of super high yields in full fields from farmers who planted Hefty Brand Soybeans over the last couple of years. Even on our farm, we had 2 different Hefty beans top 70 bushels per acre in full fields in 2010! While many farmers talk about soybean yields that have leveled off, I feel good that many of our customers continue to successfully climb the yield ladder. Hopefully, we can help you achieve your goals, too, with Hefty Brand Soybeans!
Income lost by not selling as commodity grain (e.g. 1 bushel of bin-run seed multiplied by the price of a soybean bushel) Average loss of ~ 10-15% cleanout at harvest for bin-run seed Handling and transportation costs for bin-run (approx. $.35-$.75/bushel) Bin-run planting rates are generally 15% higher than new certified seed New seed yields an average of 1.8 bushel/acre more than bin-run (University yield trials range from 1.2-5.9 bushel/acre)

in your fields even in higher pH and salt stress. Beat H0086R in 9 of 10 trials last year! Wider plant fills in rows and takes more advantage of sunlight for strong yields. and Phytophthora. Darker plants and pods look great in your fields while promoting more sunlight and heat absorption for better results in your combine. maintains its height moving into lighter soils and drier climates. Fits well across North Dakota and Minnesota. Medium plant type that gets bushy toward the bottom to fill in the rows and keep weeds out. A notch below our other varieties on IDC tolerance, but the K gene has been very consistently preventing Phytophthora root rot issues. A day later than the H009Y12, this variety is a key line for us in the late group 00 and early group 0 maturities. Excellent IDC tolerance, includes the Rps 3A gene for Phytophthora help, and works well across Minnesota and all the way west in North Dakota. Great bean! Powerful early bean. Good yields and strong defense. Fits best from HWY 200 and north. Looks great even on heavy Red River Valley soils. A Proven performer in the Red River Valley, this bean destroys competitors M and Y lines! Handles Phytophthora and tight, stressful soils. Best from Crookston to Devils Lake and the HWY 2 corridor. Hefty Brand Soybeans have the inside track on new traits and seed technologies through relationships with the top trait development companies in the industry. We introduced Roundup Ready 2 Yield varieties in the Hefty Brand Soybean lineup in 2009 and have an expanded offering for 2012. We will continue to add new product lines that will add value for your farm like 2,4-D tolerant soybeans, Dicamba tolerant soybeans, and other traits as they become available.

Big yields from SD to IA and further East. Great SDS score. Nice upright bush supports high yields with improved lodging score. Prefers well-drained fields. Top yields for SD, Northeast NE, and Western IA. Maintains height in stressful conditions. Bushier-type bean with very good tolerance to white mold and brown stem rot. Acre friendly.
- Hefty Brand Soybeans are often less expensive than other brands due to the intense cost management of a family-owned company. All seed companies have expenses to get seed produced, processed, and into your hands. Heftys contracts production through local growers, has three seed cleaning facilities, and minimizes trucking expense by doing it all in the areas where the seed will be used. The result is a lower cost to you.
