Instrumentation & Controls Engineer/Technologist

Job Description
This full-time permanent position is an exciting opportunity for an instrumentation & controls engineer/ technologist to work in various aspects of facility and pipeline design in the oil and gas industry, from project inception to completion on small or large scale projects, including: Gas Plants, Oil Batteries, and Pipeline Gathering Systems. The Instrumentation & Controls Engineer/ Technologist will guide and mentor Junior Engineers.

Main Duties and Competencies


This position reports to the Senior Project Managers and interacts with a multi-disciplinary team. Key duties include but are not limited to:

Coordinating with a team of engineers and designers for projects P&ID inputs and selection of Instruments Development of Instrument Index, Instrument Datasheets and CV Sizing Instrument installation details and location diagrams Preparation of instrument specifications Instrument support to mechanical packages Prepare RFQ and procurement for field instruments and control systems I/O list, assignment and loop drawing Preparing of Control Philosophy, Narrative and Shutdown Key Liason with electrical engineers and support design details Mentoring junior engineers and technologists

Desired Skills & Experience


Your Qualifications

Bachelors Degree in Engineering (/Mechanical/Chemical/Civil) with P. Eng registered with APEGA or a Technologist Diploma registered as a C.E.T with ASET 5+ years of experience as an Instrumentation and Control Specialist or Engineer/ Technologist in the oil and gas Industry Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary engineering team including process, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, instrumentation, and CAD support Strong communication and interpersonal skills in English required
