Dürr India to focus on domestic market; forays into

environmental and energy systems

Chennai, March 31, 2009 – Dürr India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dürr Systems
GmbH, announced its entry into environmental and energy systems in India. Dürr
India will focus on the domestic market and introduce the “Ecopure” range of
products and services. The local subsidiary will provide advanced technology solutions
for ecological and environmental pollution control across diverse industries like
automotive, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceuticals, coating and other industries.
Ecopure thermal oxidizers will be sourced through Dürr’s vendor base in India.

Dürr India will also provide a portfolio of services ranging from concept planning to
the completion of turnkey projects, customer support and service. Through the
“energy management program,” the company will advice and support customers with
concepts to reduce energy consumption in the industrial manufacturing process.

Explaining the rationale of the focus, Mr. Sunil Gupta, Managing Director, Dürr India
Private Ltd said: “US and European countries have stringent laws and regulations to
curb the emission of harmful solvents into the atmosphere. But in India, we find that
regulations have not been enforced effectively and hence, industries have not given
importance to the issue. With an increasing emphasis on clean technology worldwide,
we believe the domestic market has opened up. This is the right time for us to expand
our operations here. Dürr Systems has manufactured more than 4000 systems for air
purification worldwide, having an advantage of bringing more than 40 years of
experience and expertise in our solution offerings to domestic customers.”

The Dürr Group is a supplier of plant and equipment that commands leading global
market positions in its areas of activity. Business with the automotive industry
accounts for about 85% of its sales. Dürr also supplies innovative manufacturing and
environmental technologies for the aircraft, mechanical engineering, chemical and
pharmaceutical industries. The Dürr Group operates in the market through two
divisions. The Paint and Assembly Systems division supplies production and painting
technologies, mainly for automotive body and chassis manufacturing. The equipment
and systems supplied by the Measuring and Process Systems division are used,
among other things, for engine and transmission production and for final vehicle
assembly. Dürr achieved sales of close to € 1.5 billion with approximately 6,000
employees in 2007. Dürr is present in 47 locations in 21 countries around the world.

Incorporated in 1997, Dürr India Pvt. Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Dürr Systems
GmbH and executes the turnkey projects in the area of Paint and Assembly Systems
for Automotive OEM’S such as Ford, GM, Tata Motors, M&M, VW, BMW, etc. Dürr India
