8. Make sure that you overlap a part of the circles. Explain to the students that this part of the diagraph is for things that are found in both places. Have the students draw a picture and write a sentence about rural and urban communities. 11. CLOSURE: Today we learned about urban and rural communities. F. Assessment: What will you use to measure student understanding? The students will identify urban and rural communities. Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. I will assess the students understanding of this concept with the students picture and writing papers. G. Reflection: 1. Which part of the lesson do you think will be the easiest for you to teach? I think that the visual pictures will help the students to understand the differences in these two communities. 2. Which part will be most challenging for you to teach? I think that the concept of the Venn diagram may be difficult for the students to understand at first. I will try and use it later in the year to reinforce this strategy. 3. How will you follow up or extend this lesson? I will discuss urban and rural communities in different content areas as they arise during the year. For example, in books that we read during the year we can discuss if the setting is rural or urban. 4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts? If students do not understand this concept I would try showing them more pictures and ask them to identify the rural and urban communities. 5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you think might need to change? I hope that this lesson will not need to be changed. 6. When you were writing this lesson plan, what was the most difficult part?
