Recommended rigging practice when hoisting personnel in compliance with OSHA Directive CPL 2-1.29 Interim Inspection Procedures During Communications Tower Construction Activities
Hook shall be of type that can be positively locked closed. The hook latch must be closed and locked.
PL LATCH
The 320 style with PL latch requires a bolt, nut & cotter pin to be placed into the latch.
S-4320 LATCH
The 320N style latch requires a cotter pin to be placed into the hole in the tip.
SHUR-LOC LATCH
Positive lock latch is self locking when hook is loaded, or can be manually locked by operator.

? Crosby Man-Hoisting Vertical Lifeline system allows for up to two riders to be hoisted at one time. ? Design allows load hook to remain free of various fall protection rigging. - Hook remains locked at all times - Do not attach boatswains seat-type, or full body seat harness directly to the load hook. ? The system allows the rider to be attached to a positive locked hook, while providing for quick disconnect when destination is reached. ? System utilizes standard Crosby hardware.
