OPERATIONS STRATEGY AND COMPETITIVENESS - The future of operations Competitive dimensions trade offs Strategy perspectives (Financial customer, employee, learning, & growth) Strategic fit productivity measurement, Balanced scorecard. PROCESS (MANUFACTURING AND SERVICES) SELECTION AND DESIGNProcess analysis Process flowcharting Types of processes Measuring process performances, Product Process Matrix. Service System design matrix Service blue print & fail-safe Service guarantees as design drivers. JOB DESIGNING & WORK MEASUREMENT Time study and work sampling, concept on Ergonomics. Concepts on Organisation and methods. Problems on work measurement and work sampling.
