Program Description:
The program of Biomedical Equipment Technology is designed so as to meet the training needs of the local labor market, based on the professional standards required for National Biomedical Equipment Technicians. Training in this program includes general skills in English, mathematics and professional ethics, methods of human communication and interaction skills. It also includes training on basic skills in computer electrical engineering, and electronics as well as specialized skills in the field of medicine and biomedical electronics and equipment, such as: Electronic devices, Electronic circuits, Anatomy and Physiology, Biomedical Signals, Medical Measurements and Calibration. Digital Electronics, The program also deals with troubleshooting and maintenance of biomedical equipment. In this program the trainees will spend (1677) training hours in the college in addition to (420) hours of training in the labor market. The graduates of this program will be given diploma degrees in the specialization of Biomedical Equipment Technology. He is expected to work in the field of maintenance and operation of biomedical equipment in both public and private sectors. Program Overall objective The program aims to provide the trainees with the necessary skills and knowledge to be able to work in the field of Biomedical Equipment Technology as technicians on the fourth level of National Vocational Qualifications System.

Specific objectives of the program: The trainees should be able to perform the following actions effectively: 1) Follow daily orders. 2) Periodic maintenance and calibration of biomedical equipment. 3) Maintenance of mechanical breakdowns in biomedical equipment. 4) Repair electrical faults in biomedical equipments. 5) Maintenance and calibration of medical equipment. 6) Install and operate biomedical equipments.
