Golf Course Clubhouse Intern Job Summary This position will provide support to the management staff at the Mozingo Lake Recreation Park in a variety of capacities such as marketing, research, and communications. Candidate will learn about the day to day operations of a public golf course and how to create effective marketing plans. Responsibilities/Projects 1. Provide support to the inside services of the clubhouse, specifically to the snack bar, by managing inventory and creating promotions to enhance sales. 2. Assist management with evolving the marketing plan for the entire park and creating a long term strategy for implementation. 3. Create promotion items and take photos for future advertising plans. 4. Assist the Golf Services Manager on creating marketing opportunities and events for the golf course. 5. Research fees for comparisons regarding golf fees & park fees. 6. Research opportunities/events/cost for 2014 Mozingo Days. City Hall Administration Intern Job Summary This position will provide support to the City Managers office in a variety of capacities such as research, policy creation, communications, and data collection. Candidate will learn about the day to day operations of a city and how the various departments interconnect with each other. Responsibilities/Projects 1. 2. 3. 4. Research and create a Social Media program & policy for implementation. Create a format for community information mailer to be put in water bills. Research fees for community comparisons regarding sign permits, fence permits, building permits, etc. Identify & prepare a report on community issues and solutions regarding the student population in Maryville. This could be related to 18/21, student involvement outreach, additional internships, downtown businesses, rental home issues, etc.

Mozingo Grassland Maintenance Department Intern Job Summary Six areas totaling 123 acres within Mozingo Lake Recreation Park were identified and converted to warm season grasses. These areas were prepped and planted according to the recommendations of the mitigation plan, however other priorities took precedence and the continued management of the areas ceased. These areas can be restored to the desired warm season grass stands by incorporating future best management practices. This position will provide support to the staff at the Mozingo Lake Recreation Park in the area of grassland management. Candidate will gain experience in plan review and implementation. Responsibilities/Projects 1. Review the existing mitigation plan. 2. Create an inventory of existing plant species, including both the desired and undesired plants. 3. Assist management with the development of both short and long term plans for each area.

4. Research Grassland Best Management Practices to restore areas to desired levels (i.e. controlled burns, chemical control, replanting, mechanical practices, etc.). 5. Assist staff with the implementation of Best Management Practices to restore areas to desired levels by working cooperatively with staff and volunteers.

Mozingo Park Lake Intern (Maintenance Dept.) Job Summary This position will provide support to the management & maintenance staff at the Mozingo Lake Recreation Park in a variety of capacities such as marketing, research, policy review, and communications. Candidate will learn about the day to day operations of a public recreation park and gain experience in management policy creation. Responsibilities/Projects 1. GPS trail system, shore line, and existing facilities. 2. Outline or put in writing existing policies/practices of park maintenance. Identify all job types. 3. Research opportunities/needs for recreational programing in the park. 4. Begin research for Master Plan process (background, existing facilities, condition of buildings, etc.). 5.
