Today I would like to share with you about my traditional food. The overall taste of Malay food is spicy with a little tinge of sweetness. Herbs such as lemon grass, pandan leaves and wild ginger bus are common ingredients to accompany chilli the main flavour for Malay dishes. Seasonings play an important role in Malay cooking as they often enhance the food taste and flavors. Many of the seasonings are not dried spices but are fresh ingredients such as fresh turmeric, fresh chili paste, onions, and garlic. A combination of fresh seasonings and dried spices are normally pounded together to make a fine paste and cooked in oil. Fresh coconut milk is often added in Malay food. Some of famous traditional Malay foods are include: Nasi Lemak In Malaysia, nasi lemak is widely eaten as breakfast, which you can find it very easily in many roadside stalls in Malaysia. It is packed using a traditional way in banana leaf, brown paper or newspaper. Nasi lemak is served with Sambal Ikan Bilis cooked in a dry sambal sauce, and added with cucumber slices, roasted peanuts, and hard boiling egg. Other side dishes which are served together with nasi lemak could be chicken, beef curry, cuttlefish, cockle, pickled vegetables (achar), and hot spicy sauce (sambal). Nasi lemak (Coconut-flavored rice is steam inside coconut milk with pandan leaves). Pandan leaves with give special fragrance to the rice. Other spices like ginger, herbs such as lemon grass are also added while nasi lemak is cooked. Satay Malay Satay is a very popular dish in Malaysia, it is also very popular across Southeast Asia. Like Nasi Lemak, you also can find Malay satay easily at any street in Malaysia: at hawker centers, road side Malay stalls, night markets, and even restaurants. Malay Satay is made with ingredients and spices like turmeric powder, coriander seeds, and lemon grass which are commonly found in Malaysia. The process of making satay is by grilling the marinated meat (chicken, lamb or beef) which are skewered onto bamboo sticks over hot charcoals.

Indian Cuisine normally differentiates by North Indian cuisine and South Indian Cuisine. North Indian food is Chapatti, Parathas, Kebab, and Grill lamb. South Indian Food is Idli, Tosay, Appams, and Seafood Curry such as Fish Curry. Spices are the heart and soul of Indian cooking. Curry powder is almost never used. Spices are freshly grounded and added in many different combinations. Spices commonly used are coriander, turmeric, cumin, chilies, fennel, and fenugreek. Today, Indian food is commonly enjoyed by all Malaysians in restaurants and more popularly, Mamak stalls. Like Malays, usually Indians eat with their hands. Some of famous traditional Indian foods are include: Banana Leaf Rice Banana Leaf Rice is a South Indian cuisine that is served on a banana leaf. This dish is mainly served with hot rice, a variety of vegetables, pickles, a choice of meat or fish which is normally spicy and pappadam. Fans of banana leaf rice will normally add a combination of curry sauce (fish, chicken or vegetable) onto the rice to make it more delicious. Roti Canai Roti Canai is one of Malaysians favourite food for breakfast. Made of mainly flour, ghee and water, this flattened bread is best served with dhal or curry. There are many variations where the roti canai can be combined to create different flavours using the bread as the base. For example, you can get roti telur (egg), roti bawang(onion), roti planta (a type of margarine), roti sardine and roti cheese. Though these variations may add some exotic taste to the bread, it is sometimes best if you eat the roti canai as it is plain and hot!

Hi friends! Ni hao ma? My name is Soon. Today I would like to share with you about my traditional food. Chinese cuisine in Malaysia is mainly Cantonese style of cooking. Chinese cuisine is generally milder compared to Malay or Indian food. Many Chinese dishes are unique in Malaysia and not found in China. Chilies are used frequently to bestow fiery hotness to many of its dishes such as the famous Chili Crab. Chinese food is noted for the variety and the freshness of its ingredients. The food is usually stir-fried with just a touch of oil to ensure that the result is crisp and fresh. Some of famous traditional Chinese foods are include: Char Kuey Teow Deep fried Char Kuey Teow with soy source, add with some bean sprout and egg is most famous Char Kuey Teow in Malaysia. This dish is most famous at Northern region of Malaysia. Normally they will serve the food on a banana leaf. The hot plates added with Banana leaf will relief a fragrance which improves your appetite! Yong Tou Fu Yong Tou Fu is originated from Klang Valley in Malaysia. They will put fish paste into the bean curd, lady finger, chilies, cucumbers, and cook with soup. There are fried dumplings or bean curd too. Normally Malaysian likes to eat them with the sweet source.
