American Indian Wars

To mine knowledge no one has come up with satisfaction answer to the question why the Indian lost of North American Continent? Some would say the Indian were poor fighter compares to the European. The Indians were raises in a warrior/ hunter society. Most armies in the world would welcome this type of recruit; because they make excellence soldiers. Other would say that the Indians were force to surrender by starving. There are merits to this argument. A warriors/soldiers is almost willing do anything to win a battle and war. Its hard to keep any societies together while see your children and love one starving. The Plain Indians main source of supplies was the Buffalos. When the Buffalos were being killed off in large numbers, the Plain Indians were in serious trouble. I have no known information about the Plain Indians trying to replace Buffalos as their main source of supplies. The Eastern Coast, The West Coast, The Mountain Ranger, and the Southern tribes had fairly reliable sources of food and other supplies, but still they lost all of their territory. Many of theses tribes had their food sources endanger of being cut off by the European. The Seminole Indian was the only tribe that kept most of their territory because at the end of Indian War the land receives by Seminole was swamps. The white man at that time did not what the swamps. It fair to say starvation was contributing factor why the Indian lost major part of the continent, but it was not the main reason. Many would have said that the Europeans superior weapons were the deciding factor in winning the continent. Throughout history; some countries with superior weapons have been defeated by country with inferior weapons. One of the worst reasons I heard for the Indian for losing the American Continent was that they were out number. For most engagement the Indian attack outnumber the defender. When Sioux massacre Custer at the Little Big Horn, it marks the end of the large scale Indian attacked. After the massacre the political and military leaders decide to destroy the Indian with a vengeance. The Indian tribes and nations slowly died out. Small Indian raids still continue until the early part of 20th century For centuries, the European was fighting among each other, and over those centuries the European armies got larger and larger. The Europeans were learning ways to rise, to train, to supply, and to control large scale armies. Over the same centuries The Indian fought each other but they never learn how to use large scale army. The Indian never develop the society that could support large armies. However Indian did develop very complex political systems that even rival the European. The Iroquois, Cherokee, and Sioux were some of the better known as Indian Nations. They control large numbers of warriors but not larger scale army. They were unable to deal with the large scale invading armies.

I am not suggesting that one society was better than other but the Europeans Society was better able to equip a large scale army for a long term campaign.
