CLARINET LESSONS PLAN

Week 1 (First Lessons) Induction session with student Introduce the instrument to the student for the first time Show parts of the clarinet. (as per attached; page 2) Teach how to put instrument together (assembles the instruments, as per attached; page 2) Teach student about the reed they must use for the clarinet beginner and how to taking care the reed Teach how to maintenance and taking care the clarinets (as per attached; page 3) Closing: do the quiz with the student about the clarinet.

Why the first lesson is important? It is important for students to learn about the parts clarinet because it will facilitate the student's to assemble the instrument their own before playing for the next lessons. The student must know about the suitable reed they must use for clarinet beginner because if they use the wrong reeds make them hard to play the instrument. Maintenance the instruments also should be taught to ensure that students will not break the instruments because clarinet is very easily break it if they not know how to taking care after it properly. It also will make instruments out of tune and not good anymore to played. Make a quiz before finish the class will motivate the student and the teacher also know the student already memories and understand about the lessons.

Week 2 (Second Lessons) Tell the student to assemble the instrument itself. Teach the student the way to play the instrument properly (embouchure and how to blow the instrument, as per attached; page 3) Teach about the posture when play the instrument(as per attached; page 3) Teach the student how to play crochet, quaver, minim and semibreve in accurate count. Before play the clarinet, teach the student sing or clapping (follow by method book) to make sure they know the right tempo and rhythm pattern. Teach the first note E Teach second note D as per attached; page 5 Teach third note C Finish the class with played the song (Example from exercise 3 to exercise 17 from standard of excellent)

Why the second lesson is important? Students should assemble the clarinet itself to ensure that they have understood the right way to assemble the instrument and the teacher will be the monitor. Teach student the right way to blow (breathing and embouchure) the clarinet and the proper posture make they play better and give a good sound. Students should be taught to know Crochet, quaver, semibreve and minim to facilitate their play music according to the actual tempo and rhythm. To facilitate students to read music scores, tell them to sing or clapping follow by the method book before their played to ensure they understand how to read the note in the right tempo and accurate count. Teach them the note E,D and C. It important to make sure student get a right fingering position to play the note. Play the appropriate song or exercise before finish the class is for motivating students and attract students. This ensures the class is more happening and not makes the student bored.

Week 3 (Third Lessons) Start the class with a quiz Ask the student to play the 3 note they already teach in second lessons Teach the fourth note F ( as per attached; page 8) Teach the fifth note G Finish the class with played the song (play the song from method book from page 8 9)

Why the third lesson is important? Start the class with a simple quiz is to determine the level of students' understanding of the previous lesson. Ask student to play the notes they have learned at the past lessons to make sure they can identify the three previous. Once the students already know the 3 note position, then the new notes will introduced. Note F and G will be taught by demonstration to show students how the right finger position. Give student play the new note follow from the method book to ensure that they can play the notes correctly and have a good tone. Before the class ended, played a few songs from the method book to raise the mood of the students and give them always happy to learn this instrument.

Week 4 (Fourth Lessons) Start the class with asks the student to play all notes they already being teach in the second and third lesson. ( just for refreshment) Teach the six note A ( as per attached; page 10) Teach the seven note B ( as per attached; page 11) Finish the class with played the song ( Play the song Jingle Bells from page 12)

Why the forth lesson is important? Start the class with play the note their already learn before for refreshment. This is to determine the level of students' understanding of the previous lesson and also to ensure the student have a right figure position for every note they already learn. Once the students already know the 5 note position, then the new notes will introduced. The next note is A and B, it will be taught by demonstration to show students how the right finger position. Give student play the new note follow from the method book to ensure that they can play the notes correctly and have a good tone. Before the class ended, played a few songs from the method book to raise the mood of the students and give them always happy to learn this instrument and now student is ready to play Jingle Bells for band arrangement.

FLUTE LESSONS PLAN

Week 1 (First Lessons) Introduce myself and induction session with student Introduce the instrument to the student for the first time Show parts of the Flute. (as per attached; page 2) Teach how to put instrument together (assembles the instruments, as per attached; page 2) Teach student the way to blow the flute (as per attached: page 3) Teach how to maintenance and taking care the flute (as per attached; page 3) Closing: do the simple quiz with the student about the flute. (example: ask about a part of instrument)

Why the first lesson is important? Is important for students to learn about the parts flute because it will facilitate the student's to assemble the instrument their own before playing for the next lessons. The student must know the way to blow instrument to make a good sound before playing with the music score or exercise. Breathing and embouchure should be emphasized because it will ensure sound produced good and does not out of tune. Maintenance the instruments also should be taught to ensure that students will not break the instruments because flute is very easy to break because it made by a soft metal.If the instrument break it will make instruments out of tune and not good anymore to played. Make a simple quiz before finish the class will motivate the student and teacher also know the student already memories and understand about the lessons.

SAXOPHONE LESSONS PLAN

Why the first lesson is important? It is important for students to learn about the parts saxophone because it will train the student's to assemble the instrument their own before playing for the next lessons.
