If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email ugamiracle@gmail.com or visit the UGA Miracle Office, located inside of the Greek Life Office within the Tate Student Center **There will be no interviews for this position, so please fill out the application as thoroughly as possibly and clearly giving an explanation of your vision for this position and what you would like to do in this capacity. Furthermore, if you already completed an application for the Executive Board this year, you only need to answer questions 4 and 5**
Committee Leads will work directly with a specific Executive Board member; they will be assigned to specific duties that will improve the effectiveness of each committee and directly benefit the organization. We are looking for people who would like to significantly increase their participation and commitment to our organization and want to be leaders on campus. It is NOT a requirement to be a committee lead in order to apply for the Executive Board; this is just an opportunity to gain more experience and

Expectations for Committee Leads


(Please initial next to each stipulation below, indicating you will comply with each point)

This year we have implemented a few expectations for committee leads that will help us better serve the kids! As a Committee Lead, you will:

____ Raise a minimum of $400 For The Kids!


_____ Attend at least 75% of official UGA Miracle events (Benefit Concert, Family Days, etc.) _____ Be present at all monthly Committee Lead meetings (new this year, get pumped!). These meetings will be very important and the Executive Board will go over pertinent things and ask for your ideas and for you to help us in the decision making process.

____ Attend our first Committee Lead Retreat, set for April 28th from 12 PM to
4 PM where we will set goals, learn more about the upcoming year for Miracle, and get to know one another better!

_____ Be 100% fully committed to our cause, The Kids, Childrens Healthcare of Atlanta, and represent UGA Miracle with our values of Excellence, Integrity, Compassion, and Fun!

Position Descriptions
Hospital Relations Committee Leads Special Events Committee Leads (2 people): The Special Events committee leads will have the opportunity to lead a sub committee that will plan and facilitate monthly Hospital Visits. The committee leads and their sub committee will use their creativity to make each hospital visit special. This could entail themed visits, activities at the hospital, arts and crafts and many more fun opportunities, For The Kids! Inspiration Committee Leads (2 People): The Inspiration Committee leads have the opportunity to motivate and inspire the committee at the beginning of each meeting with pictures, videos, etc. The purpose of this position is to not only lead a sub committee but also bring the joy and excitement of the Hospital to UGA Miracle as an Organization. As Dance Marathon approaches this committee will plan and create the Inspiration Station presented 24hours at Dance Marathon 2014.

Fundraising Committee Leads (2 People): The Fundraising Committee leads will have the opportunity to lead their sub committee and facilitate 2 or more campus wide Fundraising events. These events sponsored by the Hospital Relations committee are local Athens percentage nights and even events such as Miracle Madness, the 3 on 3 Basketball tournaments! The Programming Committee Lead (1 Person): The Programming Committee Lead will have the opportunity to plan fun events to unite the large Hospital Relations Committee. These events could range from planning a committee wide retreat, to having a weekly ice cream social, or a field day, etc. Not only will this position lead a small committee but also this Lead will administer the communication on the Hospital Relations Facebook Page. Community Outreach Morale: Choreograph (4) dances to teach to the rest of the Community Outreach committee. Must bring a lot of energy to the team and sustain that energy for each and every event planned. Entertainment: Work in conjugation with the Entertainment chair to help represent UGA Miracle in Mini-Marathons. Must prepare music playlists and transport speakers to and from each event planned. Sponsorship (2 people): Responsible for contacting businesses and restaurants to provide necessary commodities for Mini-Marathons and events planned. Media/PR: Responsible for graphics, flyers, and recruitment to MiniMarathons. They will contact high schools and work alongside students to promote Mini-Marathons and the mission of UGA Miracle. Family Relations: This position will work with Family Relations to get families to and from mini marathons and other events. They will act as the liaison between Miracle families and our committee while also providing inspiration for the committee throughout the year. Community Contact (2 people): This position will have the opportunity to focus their efforts on helping different high schools raise money. In addition to this the Community Contact chair will be in contact with the schools throughout the year to help plan events and provide support. Morale All Morale committee leads are expected to be at the Morale meetings every Monday at 8:30 starting in the fall, attend committee lead meetings with Ben and Melissa as necessary, fulfill all the duties of a Morale committee

member, attend all committee lead meetings for UGA Miracle as a whole, and fulfill their specific position duties as described below: Morale Development: will be responsible for planning and helping to execute icebreakers for each Morale meeting and planning a Morale-wide bonding event one time per semester. Their main purpose is to help create a feeling of family in the Morale committee. Inspiration: will be responsible for planning and executing the inspiration for every other Morale meeting. Their main purpose is to keep Morale inspired and connected to our families and hospitals throughout the year. Theme Hours: will be responsible for coming up with the 6 theme hours for Dance Marathon and creating theme hour hype videos for the spring semester. Dance: will be responsible for assisting in picking the dance committee, assigning dance committee members to create and teach specific dances, coming to meetings 45 minutes in advance (7:45 on Mondays) to practice the dance with the dance committee, and assisting in creating the dance as a whole. Doughnut Dare: will be responsible for assisting with the planning and running of Doughnut Dare 2014, including but not limited to helping obtain sponsorship as well as PR and advertising opportunities. Member Development Committee Leads (3): The Member Development Committee Leads will be responsible for a variety of tasks. They will take responsibility for a small group of committee members who they will encourage, keep accountable and develop relationships with throughout the year. They will attend bimonthly meetings with the Member Development Co-Chairs and play a huge role in idea development, preparation and execution of Orientation Fairs, Kickoff, videos, campaigns, etc. Each committee lead will take ownership of one Awareness day in which they will be the point person for planning and execution (with our help of course). Finally, they will help organize Team Member and Color Group Specific Meetings while acting as liaisons between the Member Development Co-Chairs and the body of Committee Leads. While completing all of these tasks the committee leads should be prepared to HAVE THE TIME OF THEIR LIVES, become best friends with the Member Development Co-Chairs, and embody the core values of UGA Miracle every day! Media

Publications: Heads up delegation of tasks involving design and production of both the magazine and newspapers.

Videography: Responsible for delegation, design, and organization of promotional videos and materials. Also organizes filming with other committees.

Photography: Coordinate the Media Committees participation in events. Responsible for making sure that there are several photographers at each event. Public Relations Internal Committee Lead: The PR committee lead would be present at all meetings and responsible for taking notes during the meetings to send out in a recap email to committee members each week updating them on Miracle events, news, our fundraising goals/status, etc. The PR committee lead would also be responsible for compiling information to send in the monthly newsletters. I would start off assisting more with the newsletters, and as the year progresses, I would allow the committee lead to take on more of the newsletter on their own. Community Relations Committee Lead: The Community PR lead would be in charge of coming up with fundraising events sponsored by the PR committee to get the Athens community and campus involved in Miracle. Also, he/she would be in charge of communicating with other committees when they have events coming up so the PR committee can support their events through social media. Entertainment Media (1): Responsible for assisting the Entertainment Chair with constructing playlists for Miracle events, organizing and compiling various power points, videos, and other digital media. The media committee lead would also assist with constructing the alumni newsletter. Communications (1): Responsible for assisting the Entertainment Chair with tasks such as contacting performers for kickoff, Dance Marathon, and other Miracle events throughout the year. Responsible for assisting me with reaching out to UGA alumni who wish to continue to support and be informed about UGA Miracle. This position requires someone with good organizational and time management skills.

Family Relations Family Corner: Organizing Dance Marathon family corner so that the families have a place to go and hang out during Dance Marathon. Needs to be resourceful, organized and creative. Family Day (2): Plan family days throughout the years so that our families and UGA Miracle participants feel engaged and connected. Needs to be resourceful, creative, and not afraid to take initiative. Inspiration: Provide inspiration at the beginning of the meetings and to have a sub committee to send out to other committees. Person needs to be outgoing and willing to talk in front of people. Wall of Hope: In charge of creating, constructing, and leading a subcommittee that will be making the Wall of Hope for Dance Marathon that showcases our families. Newsletter: Send out a monthly newsletter to inform families on what is going on in UGA Miracle. Needs basic media skills to send out a PDF and to be self-reliant when it comes to putting a newsletter together. Fundraising: Organize Family Relations specific percentage nights and help Family Relations committee members reach their totals. Restaurant Relations Percentage Nights: In charge of coordinating percentage nights for UGA Miracle. Must be comfortable working with restaurants and needs to be willing to follow up when needed. Social Media: In charge of spreading the word about upcoming percentage nights, which includes: Tweeting, Facebook, making flyers, and sending out reminder emails to committees. Dance Marathon: Specifically in charge of helping with the food leading up to and during Dance Marathon. You will need to willing to work with restaurants and working closely with the Restaurant Executive Board member to ensure that there is food for all of Dance Marathon. Business Relations Special Events: This position is responsible for emphasizing the relationships we build with businesses to obtain sponsorships for different special events put on by Miracle throughout the year such as Tour of Homes, Donut Dare,

Dodgeball Tournament, Kickoff Concert, etc. This person needs to be personable, have excellent time management and be willing to step outside of their comfort zone at times when reaching out to new businesses. In Kind Donations: This applicant will be in charge of reaching out to businesses and organizations to obtain in kind donations for different events throughout the year. This person needs to be excited about talking to different businesses, be able to show businesses their passion and the purpose of UGA Miracle and be persistent. Committee Outreach: This position is responsible for finding leads and sponsorships from committee and team members in order to build lasting relationships with different businesses. Applicant should be able to take initiative and be comfortable with reaching out to other members within the organization. Fundraising Stegeman Committee Lead: This committee lead is responsible for checking people into Stegeman, managing shifts, and promoting Stegeman to the organization. Applicant should be someone who is enthusiastic, fun, organized, and able to easily motivate others to raise their total. Inspiration Committee Lead: This committee lead is responsible for finding inspirational stories, speakers, videos, etc. and sharing them at weekly meetings. This person will be responsible for keeping the entire committee motivated and encouraged throughout the year by reminding the committee of why we fundraise. Special Events Committee Lead: This committee lead is responsible for coordinating fundraisers for UGA Miracle as a whole as well as for the committee itself, which will include brainstorming and planning new fundraisers. Applicant should be creative, innovative, and willing to work closely with fundraising co-chairs. Finance Finance Committee Spreadsheet Master: This position requires someone who has had experience with excel and will be able to work closely with the finance director to promote and enhance financial integrity within Miracle. This position will also allow the applicant to grow as a leader while experiencing the inner financial workings of the organization. Finance Committee Leader: This very hands-on position is responsible for inspiring and engaging the Finance Committee. Applicants must be hard

working and self motivated. You will be in charge of making the Finance Committee eat, sleep, and breathe Miracle through different events, initiatives, and activities.
