Hi There, I have installed the sap bpc 7.0 SP4 server at one of our clients. SQL Server 2005 Enterprise edition with SP3 We have reinstalled SQL today to see if we cant resolve the issue. I am getting this issue on appshell and all other application sets. When I open a report and all my dimensions are set to basemembers then I can retreive data and submit data successfully, but as soon as I select any parent member I start to get the EVDRE error cannot connect to the webserver and will terminate in xx seconds. I have created the evdre log, and these are the errors <debug time="2009 0723 01:40:11" module="clsSUAccess" function="connectOLAP"><![CDATA[Error: Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.AdomdConnectionException: The connection string is not valid. ---> System.FormatException: An invalid IP address was specified. at System.Net.IPAddress.Parse(String ipString) at Microsoft.AnalysisServices.AdomdClient.XmlaClient.GetTcpClient(ConnectionInfo connectionInfo) also system.invalidoperationexception: the connection is not open doaxisquery: error running query, check server log for additional information. when I check the log I cannot see any relevant errors or warnings. I have processed all dimensions, and modified the application I have registered the msolap90.dll All other components are all set according to the master install file. If anyone could help, I would appreciate it. Regards Henry

This issue was solved by changing the server name in the server manager to the IP addresses of the server. This is apparently a bug in version 7.0 and will be fixed with the SAP BPC 7.5 release.

Hi I have the same issue and it's driving me mental! Do you mean changing the server name to the IP for all servers? OLAP, SQL Server etc? Thanks

Hi, I changed all the server names to IP addresses, in the server manager, and I also went into the apserver database and changed the server name there to the ip address as well. That solved my error. I hope it works for you as well. Henry
