NANTUK 4-PLY KNITTING YARN
(4 oz pull skeins):
1 skein each of Colors A (Cranberry),
B (Orange), C (Magenta) & D (Scarlet)
Needle: One "Boye" crochet hook Size H
Gauge: 10 dc to 3 inches;
3 dc rows to 2 inches
BACK: With Color A - ch 67 (71).
Row 1 - Right side: 1 dc in 4th ch from
hook and in each ch across, ch 3, turn.
Row 2: With turning-ch as first dc, 1 dc
in next dc and in each dc across: 65
(69) dc, ch 3, turn.
Row 3: Repeat Row 2, work off last 2
loops of last st with Color B, ch 1, turn.
Break off A.
Row 4: 1 sc in first dc, .. ch 1, skip 1 dc,
1 sc in next dc, repeat from" across,
work off last st with Color C, ch 3, turn.
Break off B.
Row 5: With Color C - counting
turning-ch as first dc, ., work 1 dc in next
ch-l space, 1 dc in next sc, repeat from ..
across, ch 3, turn.
Row 6: With C - repeat Row 2, ch 3,
turn.
Row 7: With turning-ch as first dc, work
1 (3) more dc with Color C, join B," over
the C strand work 1 dc with B; over B
strand work 9 dc with C, repeat from" to
last 3 (5) sts, over C strand work 1 dc
with B; over B strand with C - work last
2 (4) dc, ch 3, turn.
Always working over unused strand,
follow chart starting with Row 8 and
working through Row 26, end on wrong
side. Fasten off. Turn.
Width is 19Y2 (21) inches.
ARMHOLES - Row 27: Join D in 5th
st, ch 3, 1 dc in next dc and in each dc to
last 4 dc, fasten off.
Row 28: Join B in 4th dc, ch 1,1 sc in
next dc, .. ch 1, skip 1 dc, 1 sc in next dc,
repeat from" to last 3 dc, fasten.
Row 29: Join A in 4th st, ch 3,1 dc in
each space and sc to last 3, ch 3, turn.
Row 30: 1 dc in each dc: 45 (49) dc
across. Starting with Row 31 , follow
chart to top, turn.
SHOULDERS & NECK: With D - work
1 sl st in each of first 3 (4) dc, 1 sc in each
of next 3 (4) dc, ch 3 for 1 dc, work 1 dc
in each of next 5 dc, fasten off. Skip
center 21 sts, join D in next st, ch 3, 1 dc
in each of next 5 dc, 1 sc in each of next
3 (4) dc, 1 sl st in each of last 3 (4) dc,
fasten off.
FRONT: Work same as back through
Row 28.
Row 29: Continuing to follow chart for
colors and armhole, work to center st,
ch 3, turn. Dec 1 st at neck every row
until 12 (14) sts rem. Work on the 12
(14) sts to match back to shou Ider, end
at armhole edge.
SHOULDER: With D -work 1 sl st in
each of first 3 (4) dc, 1 sc in each of next
3 (4) dc, ch 3, 1 dc in each of next 5 dc,
fasten off.
Skip center st on last long row and finish
same as other side.
Seam shoulders and sides.
On right side with Color A - starting at
shoulder seam, crochet 1 row of sc on
neck, join with sl st with B, ch 1, turn.
Row 2: 1 sc in first dc, .. ch 1, skip 1 dc,
1 sc in next dc, repeat from .,. across, join
with sl st of C in first sc, ch 1, turn.
Row 3: 1 sc in eaeh sc and in each space,
join and fasten off.
Work same edging around armholes.
