Zurich Airport offers assistance to disabled passengers and passengers with reduced mobility on their way at the airport.
The service is provided by careport AG and is available free of charge to all passengers with reduced mobility. If you register as prescribed, careport accompanies and assists you on your way from the arrival at the airport to the aircraft and back from the aircraft to the arrival hall. careport assists you in checking in your luggage, at passport control, at customs and at security control as well as in receiving your luggage back. careport also takes care of your special needs, such as the transport of your wheelchair or the appropriate handling of your assistance dog.
At Zurich Airport, there are special parking areas available for passengers with reduced mobility, such as in car parks P1, P2 and P3. If you hold a parking permit for disabled persons, you may request a special admission in order to use the inner curbside for getting out of or into your car. If you arrive by train or by bus, you can get from the respective stations to the checkin facilities on handicapped accessible ways. Should you nevertheless need assistance on your way from the bus or the train station to the check-in, there is a charged porter service available. The service can be ordered at the respective call devices. After your arrival at the airport, you have two possibilities to demand the necessary assistance:
Should you have not been able to announce your demand on time or should you arrive late at check-in or at the pick-uppoint, please note that careport will make all effort but can not guarantee that you reach your flight on time.

Either you report one hour prior to your flights s cheduled time of departure to the check-in counter of your airline. After you have checked-in your luggage, careport will pick you up and accompany you on your further way to the aircraft. Or you report two hours prior to your flights s cheduled time of departure to one of the pick-up-points in checkin hall 1, 2 or 3. The pick-up-points are signed with the common pictographs and they are located near the terminal entrances. At the pick-up-point, careport staff will assist you or there will be a calling device for you to demand assistance. careport will then pick you up and accompany you on your further way to the aircraft.
Please let them know your individual demand of assistance as exactly as possible. Please announce if you need assistance also on your way back, after landing in Zurich. Please give note to your travel agency or your airline if there are other specialties, for example, if you need to have a battery driven wheelchair transported or if you are accompanied by an assistance dog.
Provided you announce your need of assistance as described on time to your travel agency or to your airline and if you arrive on time at the check-in counter or at one of the pick-up-points, you normally shall not wait more than 10 minutes for assistance. Under certain circumstances there may be slightly shorter or longer waiting times due to daily operations. However, if you have announced your demand as prescribed, it is guaranteed that you will reach your flight on time.
