A Resolution requesting all Faculty of Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan to Provide a Syllabus that shall include Consultation Hours WHEREAS, stated in Article III, Section 1, of the 2005 XU-CSG Constitution, The XU - CSG shall be the highest seat of student governance of Xavier University. Its officers shall represent its constituents in all university bodies and other association, both within and outside of the campus, which directly affect the students welfare and interests . WHEREAS, some course outlines do not contain consultation hours. WHEREAS, stipulated in Article III, Section 4, of the Magna Carta of the Students Rights and Responsibilities for Undergraduate Students of Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan: At the beginning of every semester, students shall be provided with a written course outline which contains the following: 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) Course Objectives General Objectives Instructional content of the course, specific objectives and activities Methods and techniques to be used Evaluation and grading system of course requirements Consultation Hours
The students shall have the right to consult their teachers for academic purposes. Likewise, the teachers should make themselves available for consultation with their students during the consultation hours set by them at the start of the semester and provided in the course outline. THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, this resolution takes effect upon the approval of 2/3 of the Directorate members sitting en banc, and thus requests that all the Faculty of Xavier University Ateneo de Cagayan should provide a syllabus that shall include consultation hours. Done this 2nd day of April, 2013 at Loyola Conference Room, Xavier University - Ateneo de Cagayan, Cagayan de Oro City, by the 20th Directorate in session assembled.
