Based on the questionnaire and my own experience I can say that I am definitely a kinesthetic learner.

Though I have characteristics of being a read/write learner, I personally prefer doing things; I have realized that I learn by doing and by being active. Being kinesthetic has advantages; I dont get bored when the learning different things, I learn easier when Im exposed to practice and evidence other than just reading a book for example.

In my personal opinion this test is very good, in fact it is a tool that help us to understand better the way people learn, after taking the exam and knowing the different characteristics that each learner has I have understood that in order to get easier the information presented in different areas it is important to apply the

different techniques presented in the document. I agree with the result provided by the test I have categorized myself as a kinesthetic person, learning by being active instead of passive. The information presented in the webpage is very helpful, this information and activities will me out during this semester to get the information easier, I can try different ways to understand things better.

Vark report CAREER: English Major YEAR: 2013 SUBJECT: Management of Technological Resources for the Teaching and Administration of the English Language (Part III) TITLE: VARK inventory learning style

NAME: Oscar Segovia

Introduction The following report has been elaborated with the objective of understanding VARK as the styles that people have to learn different things. VARK stands for: VISUAL AURAL READ/WRITE KINESTHETIC

After several investigations, educators have come to the conclusion that there are many different ways in which people can learn different things. Stewart and Felicitti (1992) define learning styles as those educational conditions under which a student is most likely to learn. It is very important to know our own learning style, it is said that a human being starts learning from the very moment we are born, and we keep learning throughout our lifetime, regardless we are at school or our job, life keeps teaching us different things every day through television, magazines, books, internet, shows etc. and if dont know how to process all that information, we wont be able to retain it as we should. Vark helps us to understand many things, including people since it is basically a well elaborated inventory of peoples ways of learning, we have known for centuries about the different modes, this inventory, initially developed in 1987 by Neil Fleming, Lincoln University, New Zealand, was the first to systematically present a series of questions with help-sheets for students, teachers, employees, and others to use in their own way. Kinesthetic learning (also known as tactile learning) is a learning style in which learning takes place by the student carrying out a physical activity, rather than listening to a lecture or watching a demonstration. People with a preference for kinesthetic learning are also commonly known as "do-ers". Tactile-kinesthetic learners make up about five percent of the population. Physical learners generally need to: Touch, feel, and handle things. Try it themselves first. They will not want to see a demonstration. Move their bodies in order to learn something new. For example, this type of

Learner may read a book with his left hand while bouncing a basketball with his right. Show rather than tell.

All this VARK adventure has helped me out to discover new things although I was sure that I am a kinesthetic person, it seems that I have characteristic of a different type of learner as well. This is definitely an advantage for me. Now I know that I can use different methods to learn things easier.

In my own case the results I got from the questionnaire indicated that I am a kinesthetic learner, in fact that was I was expected, I have some characteristics of other ways of learning though, I have found out during my school time that the best way for me to learn things was through being exposed, it means that I had to be active, interacting with different things and people. Example: I enjoy reading adventure books, which is said kinesthetic people like to do so, another example is I enjoy active learning at school using different dramas, interpretations, presentations, science experiments. Now I am going to do my best to apply the techniques that I learned during this investigation, the information I could check was very helpful for me. It is said that the more in touch you are with your own way of learning, the better you can assist teachers in giving you the tools you need to succeed.
