Body Guard: For Each Commander purchased you may purchase a Save Body Guard unit. This Unit doesnt count toward an HQ slot. The Commander must remain jointed to this Unit and 3 may only not join any other unit until all of the Body Guard Models have been removed from play. 3

The Position of Commander within the Fire Caste is an honoured one. It is given after Years of Experience; and respect from ones commanders and ones own unit. Raising among through the rank as first a Fire Warrior then as a Body Guard for another Commander. Tau Commanders are Formidable warriors in there own rights. Often sporting scars; bionics even disfigurements from past conflicts. They are called to lead Cadres to battle. Each Commanders understands the Mont'ka and the Kauyon; thou each commander seeks out how they can best use the two forms of Hunting.

Ethereal

Little is know of the Tau's Ethereal Caste. Enigmatic figures that carry disdain for the Ranged combat of the Fire Caste. Members of there caste are often seen on the Battle Field; thou it is unclear weather they are leading or observing. Often Escorted onto the field of Battle by a group of select Fire Warriors.

Escort: For Each Ethereal in the Army one Squad of Fire Warriors may be purchased. A unit doesnt count toward a Force Org Slot. A Unit Purchased this way Gains +1 BS while the Ethereal is attached to it. Inspiring Presence: Any Tau Unit Joined to an Ethereal gains the Fearless USR. Vespid Hive Mother

The Greatest reasoning mind among the Vespid Race. Unlike the insects they seemingly resemble they are not single minded rather they arte Careful and Calculating. The Brood: When purchasing a Vespid Hive Mother in the Army; up to three Squads of Stingwings may be purchased. Any unit(s) purchased this way become attached to the Hive Mother as a Single combined squad. Units purchased this way dont count toward a Force Org Slot. Pheromone Control: While the Hive Mother is Alive all Vespid Stingwing units use the Hive mothers LD. Should the Hive Mother be removed as a casualty all stingwing Units gain Furious Charge USR

Body Guard Squad

Pulled from the Elite Encounter Squads; a Commander takes time in selecting and elevating a Shas'vre to the roll of Body Guard. Many years of loyal devotion to the Commander and to the Greater Good are required. They must prove knowledgeable in the tactical as well as the strategic arts of war. With the Currents Commanders Approval they are then elevated beyond the position of Shasvre.

Fire Warrior

The Fire Warrior Squad are the ever present constant in the Tau empires army. Squads are all Gathered from the Same Septs allowing for greater bond and camaraderie within the squad. Cautious and efficient by Nature; they are trained to use their Pulse Rifles with lethal effect. Often making use of the Devilfish transport or the heavier Devilray transport. Often skirting around the battle field deploying and redeploying as needed to rake the expose enemy units.

Kroot Carnivore Squad

The Kroot have been Loyal to the Tau ever since they aided the Kroot in driving the orks hoards from the Kroot home world of Pech. The Kroot have the greatest sense of Honour, and have followed the Tau on to the Battle Field since. The Kroot are universally unique in the fact that their portions of their DNA helix is not joined and the Kroot have the inherent ability to alter it, thou doing so closes the DNA. This means that both Hounds and the Krootox are off shots of the Kroot race despite no apparent resemblance.

Lancer Battle Suite Squad

The Lancer type battle Became popular for Infantry Support when the elite Encounter class battle suite. Ideally the Lancer; as well as the Archer and the Stealth class battle suites are stripped down versions of the new Encounter class. The Suites still offer greater protection and mobility then a standard fire warrior can offer. The Lancer is capable of better handling Terrain with the protection of Iridium Plating.

Devilfish Transport

The older work horse of the Tau Ground forces. Often carrying 10 fire warriors and any accompanying Drone in the thickest battles. The standard armament being a Burst Cannon and a pair of Gun Drones. A rapid transport capable of delivering its deadly cargo quickly with little change of reprisal.

Devilray Heavy Transport

While the Devilfish has served the Tau empire with distinction for many long years it seems not longer adequate to handle the heaviest fighting. The newest incarnation is the Devilray; more resilient, increased troop capacity and heavy firepower. The Devilray is founded on the need for a troop transport that even without supporting infantry can handle battle field conditions. The new Devilray can hunt light armour, infantry squads, even smaller elite squads.

With the Incredible success of the Crisis battle suite. It was hard to find a option that worked as well at short, mid and long rangers. The Encounter class is the reworking of the Crisis suite concept with the newest technology. As with the old Crisis Battle Suite; the new Encounter is gifted to Fire Warriors who have proven there skills and their Dedication to the greater good.

Some Models can be outfitted with a thrusters system allowing the Barracuda to hang in the air and hover.

Hammerhead Gunship

Sub-munitions: The Hammerhead is able to use the Sub-munitions option when firing the Railgun.

The Sovereign Battle Suite is to the Crisis Battle Suite what the Crisis was originally to the Fire Warrior. This Battle Suite was remade taking the Successs of the early Crisis Suite and then updating what didnt work. The Newest Model incorporates a built in targeter, and far better response time. The greatest advance is the structure built into the Suite as it allows for a additional mounting point above current Battle Suites.

Tried and True the XV8-8 has remained unchanged as its proved reliable from battle to battle. The twin linked Railgun remain integrated while this does slow and restrict the Suites moment; the fire power they bring to bear is always staggering.

The Next step up on the original Crisis Suite. Rebuilt much of it was unchanged from the original design; but the materials were newer, incorporating a targetter. It replaces the Crisis Suite as the main stay of the Elite battle suites.

Conceived and designed as lighter more mobile version of the Encounter Suite. The Archer has a lighter frame, but it was re-enforced which was required to handle the integrated thruster assembly which greatly increases the Archers speed.

Marker Lights A hand held or mounted optical enhanced designator capable of eerily increasing accuracy or calling in strikes from nowhere.
