This paper will take a look at the relationship between the five element points and some major parameters: ThromboxaneB2 (TXB2) as a marker of localized circulatory disturbance, oxygen, endocrine system, lymphatic system, immune (thymus) system, sugar, and telomere. The idea of trying to find a correlation between the five element points and other systems came from my intensive work and research of the Kiiko Matsumoto style of acupuncture, which I have been practicing for the last ten years. I found her interpretation of the points function very interesting from a western physiology point of view and very helpful to my western way of thinking. This aroused my curiosity and prompted me to further investigate and develop this idea. The Kiiko Matsumoto style of acupuncture states that metal points are strongly related to oxygenation and connective tissue such as ligaments and tendons. The water points are believed to be related to lymphatic movement. This idea of finding a relation between these points and major physiology systems was very interesting to me, and I started to check if I could find some more relationships between the remaining points: fire points, wood points, earth points, source points, accumulation points, and connecting points. The following is a list of my findings based on more than 100 treatments using the BDORT: Fire points are related to thymus (immune system) Earth points are related to sugar metabolism (insulin) Metal points are related to oxygen [Nagano, Kiyoshi] Water points are related to lymphatic movement [Nagano, Kiyoshi] and from my experience, also the endocrine system Wood points and accumulating points are related to TXB2 (blood clotting system)

Source points are related to the telomere level of the connected organ . The diagnostic method I used in this study is BDORT with Point Resonance Technique (PRT)

The procedure I followed was very simple: For the Thymus (immune) I measured the strongest resonance between the Thymus photo[1] and all the points. It was always the fire points with strongest resonance, but during infection or inflammation (not all O-Rings open on thymus area) the resonance was strong. For TXB2 I found that every time there was strong resonance between the accurate Mu point (Organ Representation Point) of an organ and the stomach photo used as a possible Reference Control Substance RCS) for TXB2[2]. The strongest resonance between the true Mu point and the remaining points was with wood or accumulation points, and sometimes with both of them. Regarding the water point, I found strong resonance between these points and all glands: ovary, testes, adrenal, and thyroid. At all times these points where active and there was resonance with the organ Mu point when hormonal problems existed. For the sugar point, I tested the resonance between pure insulin and all points. It always had the strongest resonance with earth points. For source points, I found that they always had the exact telomere level that was measured on the accurate Mu points of each organ. "Yuan" means origin, and refers to the source of vital energy through which the pathological changes of zangfu organs are manifested. The chapter on the Nine Needles and the Twelve Sources the Lingshu book states: "The twelve Yuan (source) points are indicated in disorders of the internal organs."

Treatment of the Immune System Procedure 1: I located area CV-20/21 of the thymus reflex area, and placed the red clip of the Manaka ion pumping cord on the thymus reflex, and moved the black clip from one fire point to another (24 in total). There is all ways at least one fire point that will open all rings (BDORT+6) when the black clip is on it, which is an indication of an immune system resonance with the thymus. I found that moxa is usually the best treatment for this fire point. Procedure 2:

Another procedure I use is to put the ACh photo[1] on the fire point and use it as RCS to measure the meridian activity[3]. When a photo of ACh is placed on the fire point and only BDORT response is 01, I treat the earth point; if the BDORT response is 3-4, then I treat the metal and water point. With this procedure I usually obtain the same results on the thymus reflex that all O-Rings open. I found this procedure (photo of ACh is placed on the fire point ) very useful in many cases. It is still not clear to me which is the better method, because both methods seem to change the O-Ring Test on the thymus reflex area and results in all ORings opening (which is the desired result). In both cases, accuracy is of utmost importance and missing the exact acupuncture point will give false results. My conclusions I have not heard of any one else that has came to the same conclusion regarding the abovementioned method and I think more therapists should try this method to see if they reach the same results. Clinically, I found the immune system treatment very useful and I use it frequently with my patients. The other information is very useful for understanding the patient's condition. Notes: I use the HONMA five element point chart. I have not found the correlation between the connecting points and other physiological systems. [1] Omura Y.
