AP AND HONORS COURSES


Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses provide opportunities for students to pursue rigorous and challenging studies. Teachers, counselors, and parents/guardians work together to support each students progress in these challenging courses .

AP AND HONORS COURSES


Honors Courses Opportunity for students to engage in more rigorous and complex content and processes Curriculum includes enriched learning for pursuing in-depth studies that require abstract and higher -order thinking skills.
Advanced Placement Courses Courses meet the College Board guidelines for Advanced Placement examinations.

A qualifying score on an AP exam may earn the student college credit or advanced standing in the subject in college.

CRITERIA FOR ENROLLMENT


Criteria for Enrollment in Honors & Advanced Placement
Mastery of course prerequisites. Willingness to complete challenging assignments. Previous grades, student interest, and teacher/counselor recommendations. All students who have the capability, motivation, or potential to accept the challenge of such a program will be provided an opportunity to do so.

$89 (by check), $93 (credit card)


If a student qualifies for Free and Reduced Meals, student completes waiver form. With a waiver the cost of the exam is free. There are also other eligibility criteria that could qualify a student for a waiver.

SUPPORTS FOR AP AND HONORS STUDENTS


Teachers have academic support schedules and many teachers host special prep sessions leading to the AP Exam AP Study Hall Each department has Academic Support times
