I. Adjectives Adjectives
Order of adjectives
El orden usual de los adjetivoses el siguiente:

Adjetivos acabados en ing o en ed Utilizam osadjetivos terminados en ing para indicar que alguien o algo es causante de la situacin a la que se refiere el adjetivo. Utilizam osadjetivos term inados en ed para indicar que alguien o algo padece la situacin a la que se refiere el adjetivo. Ejem plos:

III.Tiemposverbales Verbaltenses
El gerundio(-ing)
Se utiliza fundamentalmente: Como sujeto de la oracin cuando nos referimos a hechos en general: Swimmingis easy (nadar es fcil). Smokingis bad for your health ( fumar es malo para la salud). Como complem ent o directo de ciertos verbos y expressiones : like, dislike, love, enjoy, deny, suggest , conside r, miss, admit, avoid, finish, imagine, practise, stop (pero no stop to, que va seguido de infinitiv o), remember(pero no rememberto que va seguido de infi- nitivo) She loves playing the piano. Le encanta tocar el piano. He enjoys cooking. Disfruta cocinando -l. I want to avoid speaking to them. Quiero evitar hablar con ellos. They remember seeing her leave an hour ago. Recuerdan haberla visto salir hace una hora. Have you finished doing your homework?Has terminadode hacer los deberes? Despus de preposiciones(in, at, of, to, for, from, while, after, before): Im good at drawing. Se me da muy bien dibujar. Were tired of waiting. Estamos hartos de esperar. Did he give any reason for arriving so late? Dio alguna razn por haber llegado tan tarde? Presente
El PresentSim ple(presentesim ple) Es la forma bsica del verbo, el infinitivo sin la partcula to. En espaol equivale al presente de indicativo.
Se utiliza fundamentalmente: Para hablar de acciones habituales: She gets up at eight oclock. Se levanta a las 8 en punto - es la hora a la que normal mente se levanta. Para expresar hechos reales, afirmacionescientficas: Wood floats on water. La madera flota en el agua. En horarios,programas,instrucciones: The bus leaves at 7.00h. El autobs sale a las 7.00h. En frases condicionale s o subordinadas indicando futuro (muchas veces corresponde al presente de subjuntivo en espaol). If they come, well tell them. Si vienen se lo diremos. En titulares de prensa: Earthquakerocks Nicaragua.Un terremoto sacude Nicaragua.

Es la misma para todas las personas,excepto para la 3 persona del singular que aade una s. Laura opens the door (Laura abre la puerta). Fjate: Si el verbo acaba en vocal+ y, se aade s, como siem pre.Pero si acaba en consonante+ y: -ies. fly (volar) a flies. Si el verbo acaba en o, ss, ch, x: go (ir) goes watch (ver) wash (lavar) pass (aprobar) watches washes passes -es.
Forma negativa
Hay que poner do not (= dont), delante del verbo. Excepto para la 3 persona del singular que es does not (= doesnt ). They do not work / They dont work (No trabajan). He does not work / He doesn t work (No trabaja).
Forma interrogativa
Hay que poner do / does + sujeto + verbo, en ese orden. D o they play? (Juegan?) D oes she play? (Juega?) Fjate que ya no se pone la s en la tercera persona del singularplay- porque la s est puesta en does.

El PresentC ontinuous or Progressive (presentecontinuo) Es el equivalenteen espaolal presentede indicativodel verbo estar + gerundio del verbo que se conjuga.
Se utiliza fundamentalmente: Para hablar de accionesque estn ocurriendoen ese momentoo en el presente: She is eatin g. E st com iendo - ahor a. They are buildin g a new lib rary. E st n construyendo una nueva biblioteca - en e ste m om ento. Para expresar preparativoso planes en un futuro prxim o: He is leaving Berlin tomorr ow. Se va de Berln maana . Es monoslab o y acaba en vocal +consonante , dobla la consonante : stop (parar) Acaba en vocal acentuada + consonante, dobla la consonante: begin (empezar) Acaba en l, dobla la consonante:travel (viajar) Acaba en ie, cambia ie por y +ing. lie (mentir) travelling. lying.
Forma negativa
Hay que poner Sujeto + forma que corresponda del verbo to be + not + verbo acabado en ing.
Forma interrogativa
Hay que poner la forma que corresponda del verbo to be + Sujeto + verbo acabado en ing +?

Se utiliza: Para hablar de procesos cuando la accin es ms importante que el sujeto, el sujeto es desconocido o tiene una importancia secundaria, cuando el sujeto de la oracin en activa es they, somebody, nobody: The house was built in 1910. En ingls, como en espaol, podem os utilizar muchas formulas para hacer sugerencias. Son muy tiles porque nos permiten proponer o aconsejar algo de una forma positiva, involucrando a nuestro interlocutor. must- have to tienen un significadomuy parecido en el afirmativo.Equivaldranen espaol a tener que : You have to/ must tell your teacher about your problem. Tienes que hablar con tu profesora de tu problema. You have to/ must practise a lot to pass the exam. Tienes que practicar mucho para aprobar el examen. We have to/ must drive more carefully. Tenemos que conducir con ms prudencia.
