BUSHMAN ROCK LUNCH and DAY TRIP - http://ensoleilletravels.wordpress.com/where-togo/domestic/bushman-rock/ 1. Picnic Lunch 30usd per person As you sit in the deep shade of the acacia trees and look out over the vineyards and lake you will be excused for forgetting that you are just 40 minutes from Harare. Our picnic lunch brings the traditional vineyard picnic to life in Zimbabwe. Our hearty mix of local produce and imported delights are beautifully packaged in personal picnic baskets along with traditional rugs. While you relax over a complimentary bottle of crisp, chilled white wine,

children can fish on the dam or play freely in the open grassed fields at leisure. Game drives, horse rides and bushman rock cave explorations can be organized on booking for a small additional fee.

2. Game Viewers Lunch 30usd per person Enjoy being out of town and relax and unwind in the lush manicured gardens at the lodges while feasting yourselves on our delicious set three course menu. We have a full range of Estate wines that will enhance the foods natural flavours and you will feel the stresses and strains of modern day life ebb away as you are slowly embraced by the slow pace of estate life. As lunch draws to a close we embark on a search for the estates wildlife within the rugged granite kopjes. Aboard the old open farm truck we try to locate the animals so that we check them over visually for any problems and feed medicated cubes. 3. Wine Tasting Lunch 40usd per person Ideal for corporate or larger groups our Wine Tasting Lunch gives guests the amazing opportunity to delve into the magic that is the vintners (wine making) art. Our team will take you through the wine making process and while in the barrel room we will sample the full array of the Bushman Rock wine products. A three course lunch is served for those who can make it back up the ramp in the wonderfully relaxed, hospitable ambience of what was originally the old winery on the family farm from over 40 years ago. The rustic atmosphere, created by teak floors and hand made furniture is enhanced by the eclectic display of some of the estates original wine vats and oak barrels for which Bushman Rocks own vintner, Paul Chambers has a passion. The interior extends onto a terrace for alfresco dining when the weather permits.

Hippo pools - http://ensoleilletravels.wordpress.com/where-to-go/domestic/harare/hippopools-mazowe/ 74,000 ha in extent, the Umfurudzi Safari Area is just 150km (approximately 2 hours driving) north of Harare. The beautiful and scenic Mazowe River forms its southern and eastern border for about 80km and is a tributary of the mighty Zambezi River to the north. The chalets, cabins, and camp site are set in gallery forest and named after the beautiful indigenous trees that provide a canopy of blissful shade over rolling buffalo lawns. 200 species of trees have been identified and marked with their identification numbers in the camp area. One of the joys of Hippo Pools is the freedom and safety to do as you wish, a rare treat in a safari camp.

There are more than 250km of mapped paths and hiking trails within the camp's operational area, ranging from easy, marked trails along the Mazowe River to more challenging ones into the hinterland and through the granite kopjes. Visitors can go on guided canoe trips, day and night game drives, all of which offer great birding and game viewing opportunities. Some 'Specials' for birders include the magnificent Pel's Fishing Owl & the Narina Trogon. In the rainy season, white water rapids falls along the Mazowe, Umfurudzi and Ruangwa Rivers make for idyllic and safe swimming. The Mazowe & Umfurudzi Rivers are also home to the large number of sport fish, including large Vundu, Tiger fish, Chesa, Bottlenose, Bream and Cornish Jack. Several Tiger fish weighing over 7kg have been taken at Hippo Pools.

Hippo Pools Wilderness Camp also offers overnight camping out at remote isolated sites and Mwanga Tree Hide, just 300m out of camp, overlooks a waterhole and salt lick. The Tree Hide, like the walking trails currently need rebuilding and upgrading.
