Technical reference documentation. Configuration of Master using GX-configurator DP.

In GX-Configurator DP start a new project and select the QJ71PB92V.

The master settings can be left as default for easier setup, however these can be changed if necessary, in this case the Baud rate is 1.5Mbps, FDL Address is 0 and Start I/O Address is 0000. Click next.

In this window, the head addresses for buffering I/O and diagnostics are set. For easier setup these have been left as the default settings of Block transfer with Input data starting at D1000 and Output data starting at D2000. The diagnostic data areas have not been set in this case. It is important that the Consistency box is checked. Other settings have been left at their default setting.

Click Finish.

Under Global GSD data select PLC and then drag and drop FX3U-32DP into the PROFIBUS Network window.

The following window will appear, in this window the slave settings are entered, in this case FDL Address is set to 1 for slave number 1 and slave is selected as active.

In the PROFIBUS Configuration Tasks window select I/O mapper.

In the I/O Mapper area, enter the head devices for user data for each of the blocks set for the slave module.

In GX developer, set the following program for the QJ71PB92V.

This program check the status of the module and initialises the data exchange, the program also transfers data between the user areas and the buffer areas. The I/O signal for the QJ71PB92V are bases on the module being in head address 0, on this basis the following table shows all I/0 with details for the module relative to this position. This program sets the station number of the slave, checks the consistency and data exchange status. The program also writes data to the master and reads data from the master for 64 words each way. The method uses U/G instructions in this case as they are supported in the FX3U.

The method uses TO/FROM instructions in this case as the U/G instructions are NOT supported in the FX3G.
