KOMO 4 FAMILY DAY Saturday, April 20, 10 am5 pm Special admission price! Buy one regular admission ticket, get one free Bring the whole family to MOHAI for a day of hands-on fun. Sample our MiniMOHAI stations, Family Lab activities, and Eploration Packs while enjoying performances and special guests throughout the day. KIDS DRIVE-IN MOVIE NIGHT Friday, May 31, 69 pm $15 per child / $10 for members Kids spend the evening with MOHAI while parents are free to enjoy the South Lake Union Neighborhood! Well make cardboard cars to drive to the movies, then watch the movie Wall-E in the museums Faye G. Allen Grand Atrium. Buy tickets at mohai.org or by calling 206 324 1126 Ext. 113. MiniMOHAI Second and fourth Tuesday of each month, 9 amnoon Included with museum admission MiniMOHAI is a drop-in program designed for kids 3 to 5 years old and their caregivers. Explore six different mobile stations around the museum with art, dramatic play, math and patterns, and more. FAMILY LAB Saturdays, 11 am2 pm Included with museum admission Spend Saturdays creating and exploring in the MOHAI Learning Center! Family Lab is a drop-in program for kids and parents, and is open each week with a new hands-on craft or activity. K12 SCHOOL PROGRAMS Visit mohai.org/learn to explore our offerings for students and teachers.

Stop by the admission desk to check out one of our fun-filled backpacks, stuffed with hands-on toys,dress up clothes and activities to make Puget Sound history come alive for your little museum visitor. Packs are suitable for children ages 3 to 7.

Summer Camps

BACK TO THE FUTURE Pacific Science Center and Museum of History & Industry Full-day camp takes place at MOHAI and PSC July 1519 / 9 am4:30 pm Drop off from 8:459 am, pick up from 4:304:45 pm Children entering grades 46 $310 for members / $335 for non-members early registration, $335 / $360 after April 30 Register at pacificsciencecenter.org Go back to the future with MOHAI and Pacific Science Center and create a vision for the Seattle of tomorrow. Explore the inventions of the past, then work together to build a city of the future. Spend the mornings at MOHAIs new location at Lake Union Park, then walk to Pacific Science Center for the afternoon. TRAILBLAZERS Seattle Childrens Theatre and Museum of History & Industry Full-day camp takes place at MOHAI July 29August 2 / 9 am4 pm Extended care offered 88:45 am and 45:30 pm Children entering grades 2 and 3 $300 early registration, $325 after May 31 5% discount offered to MOHAI members and SCT subscribers. Register at sct.org Take a daily adventure at the new MOHAI at Lake Union Park. Examine mysterious artifacts and photographs to explore the history of how people traveled by foot, boat, railroad, airplane, and more! Then, create an interactive dramatic story with your SCT teaching artist, discovering and creating new ways to travel through field and forest, across mountains, over oceans, and into the skies. WATER WAYS Center for Wooden Boats and Museum of History & Industry Full-day camp takes place at MOHAI and CWB August 1923 / 9 am4 pm Children entering grades 35 $300 for members / $325 for non-members early registration, $325 / $350 after April 30 Register at mohai.org Discover life on land and water during this exciting camp, exploring all the ways people live on and near the water! Each day well focus on a different theme such as transportation, recreation or stewardship of our rivers, lakes and seas. Camp will take place at the beautiful new MOHAI, as well as on Lake Union in boats with CWB.

HISTORY IS___ FILM COMPETITION AWARDS GALA Saturday, May 11, 7 pm Free with RSVP MOHAI and SIFF are throwing the party of the year to celebrate the winners of MOHAIs 2013 History Is ___ Film Competition and films by Northwest filmmakers that will screen at this years Seattle International Film Festival.

JOIN US ON THE 3RD THURSDAY OF EVERY MONTH FOR A DISCUSSION ABOUT LOCAL HISTORY. THE STUNNING WATERFRONT VIEWS AND DELICIOUS TREATS AT THE COMPASS CAF BY NORTHWEST CATERING ARE SURE TO ENCOURAGE LIVELY DIALOGUE!

SEATTLE AT THE MOVIES Thursday, April 18, 7 pm QUEERING THE HISTORY MUSEUM SYMPOSIUM Saturday, June 8, 10 am5 pm Included with museum admission MOHAI hosts a community event exploring themes and concepts about the representation of LGBT/Q people in museums. This years symposium includes the opportunity to give input on an LGBT/Q history exhibition MOHAI will host in 2014. SEATTLE INTERNATIONAL DANCE FESTIVAL AT MOHAI Saturday, June 15, 1 pm Included with museum admission MOHAI is pleased to participate in Seattle International Dance Festivals Art-on-the-Fly event. Aerialists from The Cabiri will perform in the Faye G. Allen Grand Atrium, and other artists will bring the buildings architecture to life through dance. GREET THE DODGE CHALLENGER RACE CAR Saturday, June 22, 11 am2 pm Included with museum admission In 1981, Seattle drag racer Al Young drove a 1970 Dodge Challenger to victory in the American Hot Rod Associations World Championship. Now, that car is part of MOHAIs collection. Celebrate the Dodge Challengers debut on display in the new museum at this special program for all ages. Al will share stories from his 25 years racing the Challenger, and MOHAIs Family Lab will feature race-car themed activities.

The Compass Caf at MOHAI Free (does not include museum admission) Robert Horton, curator of MOHAIs exhibit Celluloid Seattle, will moderate a discussion about how the experience of going to see a movie in Seattle has changed over the decades. SEATTLE PUBLIC UTILITIES Thursday, May 16, 7 pm The Compass Caf at MOHAI Free (does not include museum admission) HistoryLink historians Jennifer Ott and Kit Oldham will talk about their new book exploring the history of Seattle Public Utilities and this citys unique historical struggle between the public and private sector in providing utilities to the people of Seattle. FREMONT Thursday, June 20, 7 pm The Compass Caf at MOHAI Free (does not include museum admission) Just in time for the annual Fremont Fair and Solstice Parade, come learn more about the self-proclaimed Center of the Universe.

History Cafe is co-presented by MOHAI, KCTS 9, The Seattle Public Library, and HistoryLink.org.

DIY History Workshops

DIY HISTORY TEACHES PRACTICAL SKILLS IN HISTORIC RESEARCH, INTERPRETATION, AND COLLECTIONS CARE. SIGN UP FOR ONE OR MORE WORKSHOPS THIS SPRING! REGISTER AT MOHAI.ORG OR BY CALLING 206 324 1126 EXT. 165. ORAL HISTORY I Saturday, April 6, 9:30 am12:30 pm MOHAI, Norcliffe Foundation Conference Room $40 general public / $30 members, students, educators and seniors Whether for documenting family history or to incorporate rich stories into a memoir, film, or podcast, this two-part workshop will help you make use of oral history as a medium for gathering meaningful material. In this first session, we will look at an overview of oral history and how it is used and begin to cover basic interview techniques and project design. This is a great opportunity to better understand the many uses of oral history and get inspired. No experience necessary. Workshop is led by experienced oral historian Shelly Leavens. ORAL HISTORY II Saturday, May 4, 9:30 am12:30 pm MOHAI, Norcliffe Foundation Conference Room $40 general public / $30 members, students, educators and seniors This second session will expand upon the first (offered April 6), but it can also be taken alone for those with a basic understanding of oral history. We will discuss technology and special topics related to the field, including archival practices in the digital age and interviewing on sensitive subjects. Youll also receive ideas on where to pursue a venue for your project, and valuable resources to continue project development. Workshop is led by experienced oral historian Shelly Leavens.

CARING FOR CLOTHING AND TEXTILES Saturday, June 1, 9:30 am12:30 pm MOHAI, Norcliffe Foundation Conference Room $40 general public / $30 members, students, educators and seniors Ever wonder how to take care of that family wedding dress or treasured quilt? MOHAI costume and textiles collection specialist Clara Berg will teach you the basics of costume and textiles care and allow you to try your hand with practical tutorials.

MOHAI PUB TRIVIA AT THE WURST PLACE First Tuesdays, AprilJune, 7 pm The Wurst Place, 510 Westlake Ave. N. Dont know what to do with your encyclopedic knowledge of Seattles fascinating history? We can help. Come join us for MOHAI Pub Trivia at The Wurst Place in South Lake Union, every first Tuesday of the month, through June. Trivia starts at 7 pm and is free to play. Teams limited to 6 people. THURSDAY NIGHT HIGHLIGHT TOURS Every Thursday, MOHAI is open until 8 pm! See and learn about some of MOHAIs most iconic artifacts on a 30-minute docent-led tour in the Faye G. Allen Grand Atrium. Tours are offered at 5:30 pm and 6:30 pm every Thursday night. FREE FIRST THURSDAYS On the first Thursday of each month, admission to MOHAI is free all day long! Special programs and activities will happen throughout the day, including hourly docent-led tours in the Faye G. Allen Grand Atrium, starting on the half hour, 10:30 am6:30 pm. GROUP VISITS MOHAI at Lake Union Park is the perfect place for groups to visit! Group visits can be self-guided or for a special treat, add our Highlights Tour or Insights Presentation (both programs designed for adults ages 18 and older). To book a group visit, call 206 324 1126 Ext. 165. To inquire about bringing a school or youth group for a museum visit, call 206 324 1126 Ext. 113.
