Expanding
Your Sleep
Window
By Sunshine Kahmann, DC, IBCLC
For people having difculty
sleeping, there is a concept of an
expanding sleep window that is
an efective means to reset your
internal clock.
Start the frst day of the reset
without any stimulants, then
go to bed for the time that you
are usually able to sleep. For
example, from midnight to
4 am. Stay in bed that entire
time. On day two, expand that
sleep window by ten minutes
on either side. Keep expanding
the window until you fnd the
optimum window for example
10 pm to 6 am.
Te key is to stay in bed the
entire sleep window. Tere are
also supplements such as Myo-
calm PM for muscle tension,
Somnolin for those with racing
minds and difculty staying
asleep, and Benesom for those
with difculty falling asleep. For
additional information, contact
Ambient at
269-5000.

Where does your food come from?
If youre like many Americans, your answer to Where does your
food come from? is the grocery store, when in fact, this is just where it's
distributed. In reality, many people are unaware of agriculture in their
lives, and what it takes to have food on their table.
Just a few generations ago, most people were farmers. That's no lon-
ger the case. That's why we are writing, because agriculture provides the
necessities of life: food, clothing and shelter.
Farmers are working harder than ever. Today, each farmer feeds 154
people. But it's not just the farmer who makes our food possible. Ev-
ery worker and business, from farm to grocery store, is a vital link that
brings you food.
It's easy to take agriculture for granted food is accessible and safe.
We're fortunate, but we have an obligation to recognize how it's made
possible.
March 19 is National Ag Day, a time to be grateful for American ag-
riculture!
