ScriptPad Discussion Question

Question 1: To what extent does ScriptPad meet each of these tests of an opportunity?

Answer: Attractive- ScriptPad is really attractive because, the prescription writing mistakes that contribute over 7000 death each year which is eliminates by scriptPad. ScriptPad reduce the cost also by using technology and it reduces the use of paper which is help for our environment. Durable- ScriptPad is durable because doctor can save it on their scriptPad. More soft copy can be made from it. Water cannot destroy it like the paper. So ScriptPad is durable than the papers prescription. And it is a short term method also. It is also using the Smartphone technology also. Timely: ScripPad saving the doctors time. Because, If a doctors make a mistake then he or she can notify it easily and he or she can make it right. It is a time saving technology. Whereas writing in a paper is a much more time consuming work. So, ScriptPad is saving the time. Question 2: What environmental trends are working in ScriptPads favor? If ScriptPad has uncovered a promising business opportunity, what environmental trends have made ScriptPad possible? Answer: ScriptPad reduces the stationary cost. It is saving the patient and doctors time. Everybody is feeling profitable for their cost and time management. Because, time and cost is very important thing for the patient. So, environmental trends are working in ScriptPads favor. Question 3: Put yourself in the shoes of a family physician thats part of a five-doctor practice (containing five doctors). If you were that doctor and were being pitched on ScriptPads method for writing prescriptions, how would you react? What would you see as the pluses and minuses of adopting the service? Ultimately, based on the information in the case and ScriptPads Web site, what would your decision be? Answer: If I put myself as a doctor than I will support the ScriptPad. Because most of the thing of ScripPad is positive. It is saving the time. It is reducing the cost .ScriptPad using the technology by Smartphone; It is giving the proper prescription to the patient. But I have some minus point also. Doctor can do mistake sometimes to write. Because there

are many medicine which pronunciation and spelling are almost same. So doctor can do mistake by his or her slip of hand or the pharmacist can understand wrong. So if there is a description method on the ScriptPad and symptom method of diseases than scriptPad can give the medicine name automatically and doctor can choose the medicine name from there. It can reduce the mistake. Question 4: On what side do you think ScriptPad faces the biggest adoption challenge the physician side or the pharmacy side? Explain your answer. Answer ScriptPad faces the adoption challenge to the physician side. ScriptPad has made for the physician. Physician will write down the prescription to the ScriptPad , ScriptPad is not uses for the pharmacist. Pharmacists will readout the prescription and he will give the medicine. So, pharmacists do not need to adopt it. Since, doctor will use it so he o she need to know the details of ScriptPad and also adopt this technology.

Application Question
Question 1: ScriptPads basic premise is that it solves the problem of prescription mistakes. Is this true? Can you think of scenarios in which a mistake could be made even when using ScriptPads service? If so, how could ScriptPad correct for these possibilities? Answer: ScriptPads basic premise is to solve the problem of prescription mistakes but also make it safe. So it is true. But I think ScriptPad could be made some problems.Those are: 1. Charging Problem- ScriptPad have to the capability of long lasting charge. So that physicians can use it in a long time. Because as far as we know this is a problem of APPLE that there battery power system is poor than the other company. 2. File Saving System- File saving system is important for this. So that doctor will not need to write down it again and again. It will help also to search out the prescription farther time. 3. Network System- If apple give the scope of using internet on it and make a network system on it, than all the physician of a hospital can discuss any problem to the others doctors. 4. Image Viewer If APPLE use a image viewer system of the medicine than it will be easy for the Patient and also for the pharmacist to identify the proper medicine which is given by the doctor. 5. Cost- Cost of scriptPade should me reasonable so that doctors can buy it easily.

Question 2: If you were ScriptPads founder, and you now have a working prototype of your device, how would you proceed? Are you ready to go to market or are there additional steps that need to be completed before ScriptPad is available for sale? Answer: If I were ScriptPads founder than I am not ready to go to market. Because, first I need to survey it and also a performance review from the doctors. Are they feelings comfortable by using it or not. Then I will take suggestions from them to improve product. After that I will go to market and make it available to the market. It the doctors dont give me the batter feedback then I will not go to market. Because, it is related with the patient life.
