Vietnam Standard TCVN 5945: 2005 Industrial waste water - Discharge standards The standard TCVN 5945:2005 is to replace

the TCVN 5945:1995. The standard TCVN 5945:2005 is prepared by the Vietnamese Technical Standards Unit/Standard 147 Water quality, proposed by Vietnam Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality, and approved by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment. 1 Scope 1.1 This standard specifies limit values of parameters and concentration of substances in waste water discharging from production, processing, services and trading premises, etc (generally called industrial wastewater). 1.2 This standard is applied to control of quality of industrial wastewater before being discharged into different type of water body, comprising of water body for domestic water supply purpose, water body with other using purposes which require lower water quality requirements, or to other wastewater receiving sources. 2 Limitation values 2.1 Values of parameters and maximum allowable concentrations of substances in industrial wastewaters before being discharged into water bodies are shown in the table 1. 2.2 Industrial waste waters containing the values of parameters and concentrations of substances which are equal to or lower than the values specified in the column A (table 1) can be discharged into the water bodies using for sources of domestic water supply. 2.3 Industrial waste waters containing the values of parameters and concentration of substances which are greater than those specified in the column A, but lower than or equal to those specified in the column B (table 1) are discharged only into other water receiving bodies, except the water bodies specified for Column A. 2.4 Industrial waste waters containing the values of parameters and concentrations of substances which are greater than those specified in the column B but not exceeding those specified in the column C (table 1) are discharged only into specific water bodies permitted by authority agencies (such as separate wastewater reservoir, sewer connecting to the central wastewater treatment plant, etc). 2.5 Discharge standards applying for particular waste waters produced by specific industries of certain production, services and trading activities are specified in separate standards. 2.6 Standard methods of water sampling, analysis, calculating and defining values for each parameter and concentration of substances in industrial waste waters are specified in available current TCVNs or by authority agencies.
