1.1 Overview
OPCOM3105-155 is a small Multi-service Transporting SDH Optical Multiplexer developed by Raisecom. It is one type in OPCOM3100-155 series devices, which make progress in device structure and function consummating as well as saving cost. The smarter structure and reasonable design makes it much more flexible in application. There are two Aggregation Unit STM-1 optical interfaces on OPCOM3105-155, which can be configured in independent mode or 1+1 protection mode. The fixed service interface types are 4 ports of 75 ohm unbalanced E1 interface, 3 ports of 10/100M Ethernet electrical interfaces with switching function, 1 port of independent 10/100M Ethernet electrical interface. Besides, there is an expanding-slot on the device, by which OPCOM3105-155 can extend the service interface by connecting with V.35 interface, E1 interface and Ethernet interface, etc. sub-cards. The expanding-slot enables fulfillment of multi-service configuration and can meet users requirements furthest. All services are mapped into SDH transmitting network in accordance with VC12 granularity. OPCOM3105-155 can be fit in network very flexible, it supports network topology types of point-to-point, chain topology or ring topology, etc. 1+1 Multiplex Section Protection and 1+1 Lower order Path Protection (LPP) provides high reliability transportation. User can implement unit network management for the whole OPCOM3105-155 network topology by founding in-band or out-of-band network channel, or to fulfill graphical monitoring, alarm trap, management and maintenance by the network management NView NNM developed by Raisecom.

Dying Gasp function can detect the remote device power off alarm trap. Local optical interface external loop back, local E1 external loop back and local E1 internal loop back facilitate link detection. SNMP interface and CONSOLE interface provide in-band and out-of-band network channel, in support of local and remote software online upgrade. Complete alarm trap, performance monitory function. In support of 220V, -48V power supply, total consumption of the device is 10W. 19 inches standard 1U chassis. Operating temperature: -5~50.

Figure 4-1 TM network element type 2. Add/Drop multiplexer (ADM) Add/Drop multiplexer (ADM) is the most common network element type in SDH network, it has both synchronous multiplexing function and digital cross connection function, and can add/drop the tributary signal flexibly. For example the access E1 signal can be multiplexed to both east STM-1 signal and west STM-1 signal.

2. Chain topology Chain topology is made up of two TM devices and several ADM devices. Data is often transmitted in bi-direction and less optical fiber is needed.
3. Ring topology OPCOM3101-155 can organize ring topology network at STM-1speed with flexible service configuration and high reliability, it also can realize 2F SNC-P function.

FAQ
If you have problems during the installation or application, please try to solve them through the following suggestions. And if it does not work, please contact the sellers to get technical supports.
1. Q: PWR light of power supply card turns OFF. A: Check the power supply cable first, and then the power supply card.
2. Q: LOS alarms of SDH optical interface. A: That is to say, there is receiving signal loss. First, check whether the cable is connected correctly; second, if there are still alarms when self-loop the cable (perhaps optical attenuation is needed), change the cables; if there are still alarms then there is something wrong with device.
3. Q: Indicator light of SNMP network management interface is OFF. A: First, check whether the cable works normally or not; then, check whether the devices connect to SNMP network management interface works normally or not. And make sure the cable is correct.
4. Q: E1 channel failed. A: Check the E1 cable, optical interface and time slot configuration, check the alarms in the EMS and use loop back function to find where the problem is.
