Africa: Bracelet of Symbols

STEP 1: STEP 2:

Using a cutter, cut a 17.5 x 7 cm piece of black leather and a 17.5 x 4.5 cm piece of dark purple leather. Draw two lines on the inside of the black leather piece with fabric chalk (for measurement see illustration). Glue the dark purple leather onto black piece where you have marked with chalk. Fold over and glue edges of black leather above purple leather. Draw lines at 1 cm intervals with fabric chalk (see illustration). Punch small holes on the lines and between the lines as shown. Punch one row in the center of the folded edge on the top and bottom and punch one row just below the folded see illustration. Cut a piece of 0.6 mm leather cord and begin sewing as you shown in the illustration. When youve nished the two rows weave ends of leather cord through sewn part on the back side and x them in place with glue. Cut a piece of 0.5 mm nylon beading thread and sew as shown in illustration. Repeat step 7 on other side. Cut a piece of 0.5 mm nylon beading thread and sew onto bracelet: Swarovski Sew On Stone 3255 18 x 6 mm, GSHA Swarovski Sew On Stone 3270 16 mm, Crystal Swarovski Sew On Stone 3200 14 mm, Crystal Tabac Swarovski Sew On Stone 3255 18 x 6 mm, Volcano Swarovski Fancy Stone 4439 14 mm Swarovski Sew On Stone 3400 6 mm, Crystal, Light Topaz Swarovski Sew On Stone 3204 12 mm, Crystal Swarovski Sew On Stone 3265 20 x 16 mm, Crystal Copper Swarovski Sew On Stone 3255 18 x 6 mm, Crystal Silver Shade Swarovski Sew On Stone 3240 16 mm, Crystal Tabac Swarovski Fancy Stone 4737 14 mm, Volcano Swarovski Sew On Stone 3223 18 x 9 mm, Crystal Cut a piece of 0.5 mm nylon beading thread and sew the Swarovski Sew On Stone 3400 12 mm in Jonquil into the Fancy Stone 4439. Using the thread ends from sewing in step 7, sew two Swarovski Sew On Stones 3015 12 mm Jet onto the edges as you see in illustration. Cut 15 cm of the 2 mm elastic cord and sew it with one of the thread ends from step 8 and sew elastic cord onto back side of bracelet to form a loop (see illustration). Repeat this step for a second loop on the other side of bracelet. Cut a 16.5 x 2.2 cm piece of black leather with cutter. Glue this piece onto center of back of bracelet to nish.
