IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS
Rehabilitation of access roads linking the three gates of the port- the main entrance , central and eastern gates. Installation of traffic lights to regulate the flow of traffic to and from the port. Undertaking port operations processes to ease congestion in the port e.g . Evacuation and transfer of containers, vehicles are done at night. The port has introduced electronic gating system to further reduce unauthorised persons entering into the port

Conclusion
Transit Business taken seriously in Ghana Many steps taken to improve access but there is always room for improvement. Plans are afoot to increase port capacity to ensure further reduce cost of doing business through our ports.
