63.7 percent (503) of administrators, 80.5 percent (9,528) of teachers, and 66.4 percent (6,139) of supporting services. Males comprised 36.3 percent (287) of administrators, 19.5 percent (2,302) of teachers, and 33.6 percent (3,105) of supporting services employees. The percentage of Black or African American administrators increased by 6.7 percent between the 2000 baseline year and 2012. The percentage of Asian administrators increased by 2.1 percent, and the percentage of Hispanic/Latino administrators decreased by 0.5 percent during this time period (Table MM-2). Between 2000 and 2012, the percentage of Black or African American teachers decreased by 0.1 percent, the percentage of Hispanic/Latino teachers increased by 2.0 percent, and the percentage of Asian teachers increased by 2.3 percent (Table MM-3). The percentage of Asian employees holding supporting services positions has increased 6.5 percentage points from 4.6 percent during the 2000 baseline year to 11.1 percent during 2012. The percentage of Hispanic/Latino employees holding supporting services positions has increased by 9.0 percentage points from 8.1 percent during 2000 to 17.1 percent during 2012. The percentage of White employees holding supporting services positions decreased by 14.9 percentage points from 61.1 percent in 2000 to 46.2 percent in 2012. The percentage of Black or African American employees in supporting services positions decreased by 1.8 percentage points from 25.9 percent in 2000 to 24.1 percent in 2012 (Table MM-4).

Diversity in Workforce
During FY 2012, there were 22,216 employees, of whom 63.3 percent (14,063) were White, 17.5 percent (3,888) were Black or African American, 10.2 percent (2,264) were Hispanic/ Latino, 7.5 percent (1,670) were Asian, 0.3 percent (62) were American Indian or Alaskan Native, 1.2 percent (260) were identified as Two or More Races, and 0.0 percent (9) were Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander. Female employees represented 74.0 percent (16,457) of all employees and 26.0 percent (5,759) were male (Table MM-1). White and Black or African American employees comprised a greater percentage of all positions in MCPS. Approximately 58.2 percent (460) of administrators were White, and 32.4 percent (256) of administrators were Black or African American. All other racial groups comprised a total of 9.4 percent (74) of all administrator positions. The majority of teacher positions, 76.8 percent (9,089), were held by White employees. Approximately 24.1 percent (2,224) of supporting services employees were Black or African American. A total of 17.1 percent (1,583) of supporting services employees were Hispanic/ Latino, and 11.1 percent (1,027) were Asian.
