Did you know that many people on this planet dont have as much water in a week, as you do in one day. Those people have to walk for about two hours to a well, and sometimes it is just a dirty water puddle. They have to walk twice a day to get one bucket full of dirty water. After using that water for cooking, cleaning, washing, and drinking, there is not a lot left to have fun with. There isnt enough water for them to play in the sun and squirt each other with the water, like we do sometimes. Doesnt this make you think about how lucky we are to have so much? We take water for granted, because we have always had it.

Meat
Did you know that it takes 1,857 gallons of virtual water to produce one pound of beef? I asked some people what they thought about that and that is what some of them said. Finn: Wow thats a lot of water, its enough to fill a swimming pool just for a chunk of meat Caroline: Its obviously too much, but what can you do when that is obviously as much as the beef needs? Hannah: I think that its like really much, and not necessary. Anouk: WHAT?! That is a shocking fact and just so we eat meat, that is a bit retarded, that is not ok. You need lots of water for all those animals to drink, and then again lots of water to grow their food and clean their waste. It also depends on the size of the animal. For instance one pound of pork takes 756 gallons of water to produce. Thats still a lot, but less than beef. For a chicken its the least. A chicken only takes 469 gallons of water to produce one pound, it is still a lot but less. The main reason that meat takes so much more water in the production than most things, is that the animals need water to drink, to clean and for their pastures. It takes 808,400 gallons of water for 18,700 pounds of pasture, feed and hay, 6300 gallons for drinking, and 1900 gallons for cleaning the stables and farmyards. If you add that all up together, it is 816,600 gallons of water used during the entire life of one cow.

Finn: Thats also quite a bit. Thats a lot. How does that water all get there, how is that water all used?

Caroline: Well I like cheese so Im not just going to stop eating cheese.

Did you know that one

The water that we have right now is all the water that we ever will have, we cant get any more and no one can change that.

pound of yogurt takes 138 gallons of water to produce? That is a lot for about one portion of yogurt. It takes a lot of water to raise the animals and process the edible end product, but that still is a lot of water. For one pound of sausage it takes 1382 gallons of water. When I asked someone what he thought about that he thought that was a lot.

For eggs, one pack of them, it takes For processed cheese it takes 589 gallons of water, when I asked a classmate of mine what she thought about that she said, 400 gallons, giving water for the chickens to drink and then processing it. For fresh cheese 371 gallons of water, fresh cheese takes less water to produce because it only needs water for the animal, and processed cheese needs a lot of water to make it edible and keep it fresh. You can also research articles or find filler articles by accessing the World Wide Web. You can write about a variety of topics but try to keep your articles short.

Fruits and Vegetables

Fruits and vegetables also take a lot of water to produce because all the virtual water counts, so that includes rainwater, and irrigation water. It takes 379 gallons of water for one pound of figs. It always takes more water the bigger the product is. For a pound of plums 193 gallons of water. It takes 185 gallons of

water to produce one pound of cherries, and 103 gallons for a pound of bananas! It takes 84 gallons of water for a pound of apples, 78 for grapes and 55 for oranges. Even for one pound of strawberries it takes 33 gallons of water! I asked one of my classmates what she

Much of the content you put in your thought about that and can also be used for your Web newsletter he site. Microsoft Word offers a simple way thought that was to convert your newsletter to a Web unnecessary, he said, publication. So, when youre finished Finn: Well its quite ayour newsletter, convert it to a writing bit of water at least a lot Webcomes back, but of it site and post it. taking so much from nature isnt that good.

Common Goods
gallons of water Lots of common goods use a lot of virtual water. Mostly common goods like jeans and cotton bed sheets and cotton T-shirts, that are made out of cotton use loads of water. Because cotton needs so much water to grow and lots of fertilizer, cotton uses a huge amount of virtual water. One pair of blue jeans uses 2900 during the whole production. One cotton bed sheet uses up 2800 gallons of water, and one cotton T-shirt 766 gallons. Even the production of just one hamburger takes 634 gallons of water! I asked one of my friends what she thought about that and she said, Hannah: I do think that is a lot and I think it isnt that necessary.

So many things in our daily life use up so much water and we dont even notice it! Something as simple as a little snack uses gallons of water! Dont take water for granted. We wont get any more water. Earth only has a certain amount, and if we use it all up and waste this precious resource for unnecessary things then there wont be any more water! Every living being needs water. All of us need water. By

paying more attention to how much water you are using, you can help a lot. Little things like turning off the sink while you are brushing your teeth, helps.

You could also include a brief list of the types of products, services, or programs your organization offers, the geographic area covered (for example, western U.S. or European markets), and a profile of the types of customers or members served. It would also be useful to include a contact name for readers who want more information about the organization.

This story can fit 175-225 words. If your newsletter is folded and mailed, this story will appear on the back. So, its a good idea to make it easy to read at a glance. A question and answer session is a good way to quickly capture the attention of readers. You can either compile questions that youve received since the last edition or you can summarize some generic questions that are frequently asked about your organization. A listing of names and titles of managers in your organization is a good way to give your newsletter a personal touch. If your organization is small, you may want to list the names of all employees. If you have any prices of standard products or services, you can include a listing of those here. You may want to refer your readers to any other forms of communication that youve created for your organization. You can also use this space to remind readers to mark their calendars for a regular event, such as a breakfast meeting for vendors every third Tuesday of the month, or a biannual charity auction. If space is available, this is a good place to insert a clip art image or some other graphic.
