Question 4 What do you think would be the most societal problem in our country? Why?

A societal problem is a provision with the intention of at slightest citizens in a district view as being detrimental. Essentially, there are masses of societal problems in Malaysia such as an adolescents escapee from home, under the influence, gambling, obtains with drugs and so on. From day to day, these troubles turn out to be more somber. In our observation, approximately on a daily basis the societal problems among the adolescents are reported in the newspapers and television.

The most societal problem in our country is obtains with drug. This craze is not engaging to youngsters merely but as well the adults. Yearly the Narcotics division from Police

Department and the main agency for drug which is National Drugs Agency tries to resolve this crisis but it looks like in no way to end.

As we know, the history of drugs started 5000 years ago in Arab. In Malaysia, it started in near the beginning of 19th century. At early stage it only caught up the adults especially the fishermen. But, at the end of 1960s, it broadens to the youngsters and they are more engrossed in genetic copy drugs such as cocaine, amphetamines, glue and so on.

According to the statistics, from 1974 to 1994, there are almost 200,000 drug fanatic in Malaysia where approximately 80,000 natives are undying users and the numbers are increased by point in time goes by. The greater part ages of drug addict are in the region of 15 to 25 years old. Numerous of them are still studying in secondary school and as well college or university. This problem seems to be a serious societal dilemma in our nation seeing as these populaces are departing to be our rector in the future.

There are quite a lot of factors why the young people feel affection to obtain drugs. One of the factor is to have pleasurable in their life. Most of these teenagers caught up in the company of drugs since they approximating to get pleasure of themselves. A few of them be in

this world with difficulty and they desire to put out of their mind with the problems. Drugs are the method preferred as a result of them to forget all the problems occurs in their life.

The other factor is peer pressures. Peer pressures are one of the major factors why populaces turn out to be a drug addict. If the person makes friends with the drug addict, then the probability that the person get involved with drugs is much higher and the number of drug addict can be increased shortly.

The next factor why people get involve with drug is biology factor. One of the expectations in this millennium era is drug and pills can recover us from poor health. There are several impact will occur when people get involved with drug. The most obvious force is physical impact. Using drug will impact the physical of the person such as the metabolism, heart, lungs, the breath systems and et cetera. They grow to be unhealthy at all and improper dress up. Their eyes transform to red and they keep losing weight.

Second force is emotion impact.

Emotion or also known as psychology impact is

influence the brain of the addict. With drug, the person feels euphoria every time they using it and they not situate in the real world. At this stage, the person is unrestrained. They will do anything they wish for without thinking what happen to the surroundings.

Next force is social impact. When a person is influence with drug, they forgot about their responsibility to their family, jobs, and the community. They started to sleep at the bus station and other places except home, and do other crime such as steal other person belonging to gain money and et cetera.

As a conclusion, the drug abuse is the most dangerous societal problems in Malaysia. This occurs since the drug addict is greater than before, year by year. The youngsters are the populace that easy to get caught up with drugs because of several factors. Every year, the people

died because of drug are increased.

In addition, there are a lots of drug pushers out there that

grows every year. The unenthusiastic consequences of drug abuse have an effect on not only the persons who abuse drugs but also their families, the community, various businesses, and government resources. Drugs can construct people conduct themselves in insecure, reckless and antagonistic way. Many people that take drugs believe that they can stop taking drugs whenever they want, but the fact is once we get caught into this situation, it is uneasy to us back to the normal. There be scores of treatments they have to capture to depart drugs in their live.
