TOURNAMENT INFORMATION
FORMAT: 36 Hole stroke play. Practice round: Monday, June 24. 18 HOLES: TUESDAY, June 25, 8:00 a.m. first and tenth tees - 1:00 p.m. first and tenth tees. 18 HOLES: WEDNESDAY, June 26, 8:00 a.m. first and tenth tees - 1:00 p.m. first and tenth tees. FIELD: Field is 192 players. First 144 to enter in 16-18 age division and first 48 to enter in 15 and under age division. Vacancies in either age group will be filled by any over flow entries to the other division. TWO AGE CLASSES: 16 THRU 18 (144 Players), 15 AND UNDER (48 Players). AWARDS: Nicholas Popa Trophy to overall champion. Trophies to top ten in 16-18 and Champion and top five in 15 and under. Final results will be mailed to all member clubs. Any awards not picked up at club will be sent UPS. 2013 Champion is exempt for the 2013 Ohio Amateur July 8-12, Brookside CC, Canton, Ohio. CONTESTANTS: Open to all junior male golfers who have not reached their 19th birthday as of June 25, 2013 and are residents of Ohio with a handicap index under 14.4. Contestants are responsible for their own accommodations. OGA office will supply hotel listings with confirmation letter. PRACTICE ROUND: MONDAY, JUNE 24. NO PRE-ARRANGED PRACTICE ROUNDS. Player, not parent or guardian, must report to registration and then to the first tee to arrange practice round. REGISTRATION: Contestants must register at club Monday, June 24 or if he is unable to get to the course on Monday, call the OGA before June 21 to pre-register. If a player fails to register, his spot may be given to an alternate. First tee will close at 3:00 p.m. Make sure you allow ample time for registration and getting to the first tee. PAIRINGS: Pairings will be mailed to all contestants one week in advance of event, and will be available on Monday, June 24 at the club. All entries shall be deemed to be by invitation and are subject to Board acceptance. REFUNDS: No refunds after deadline date, June 13, 2013, 4 p.m., or when field is 192. A written medical excuse must be submitted after deadline date for refund. CODE OF CONDUCT: Players will adhere to a strict CODE OF CONDUCT and those who do not compete as gentlemen, without profanity, tantrums and other outbursts will be disqualified. Parents are subject to similar standards. CADDIES: NO CADDIES PERMITTED. Parents must remain a reasonable distance from play, at least 50 yards. Parents are not allowed on any teeing ground or putting green during practice or tournament rounds. After the first warning, the player will be disqualified. DRESS CODE: A proper dress code will be enforced all three days. NO JEANS, CUTOFFS OR RUNNING SHORTS. Ball caps will be worn correctly, and shirts tucked in. No caps will be worn indoors at anytime. Players who fail to follow this code are subject to disqualification. NO CARGO SHORTS. TRANSPORTATION: (Ohio Amateur and Junior) Players must not ride on any form of transportation during a stipulated round unless authorized by the Committee. The optional condition prescribed in Appendix 1 of The Rules of Golf will be in effect. No spectator carts. SPECIFICATIONS OF CLUBS AND THE BALL List of Conforming Driver Heads: On its Web site (http://www.usga.org) the USGA periodically issues a List of Conforming Driver Heads that lists driving clubheads that have been evaluated and found to conform to the Rules of Golf. Any driver the player carries must have a clubhead, identified by model and loft, that is named on the current List of Conforming Driver Heads issued by the USGA. Exception: A driver with a clubhead that was manufactured prior to 1999 is exempt from this condition. *PENALTY FOR CARRYING, BUT NOT MAKING STROKE WITH, CLUB OR CLUBS IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Stroke play - Two strokes for each hole at which any breach occurred; maximum penalty per round - Four strokes. *Any club or clubs carried in breach of this condition must be declared out of play by the player to his marker or a fellow-competitor in stroke play immediately upon discovery that a breach has occurred. If the player fails to do so, he is disqualified. PENALTY FOR MAKING STROKE WITH CLUB IN BREACH OF CONDITION: Disqualification. List of Conforming Golf Balls: On its Web site (http://www.usga.org) the USGA periodically issues a List of Conforming Golf Balls that lists balls that have been tested and found to conform with the Rules of Golf.
