EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

Comprehensive project report is part of the MBA SEM 3 and 4 curriculums. Under which 2 students in one group are supposed to study one industry and so we have selected AVIATION INDUSTRY for our study. India is one of the fastest rising economies of the world with a standard GDP growth of over 8.9 percent in last five years. For India to maintain its economic growth story it has to reinforce its infrastructure sector and in particular, significantly improve its transportation infrastructure. Aviation is an important part of nationalized infrastructure and one of the prime movers for economic growth and an important planned element of employment generation. Aviation sector in India has been transformed from an above regulated and under managed sector to a more open, moderate and investment friendly sector since 2004. Agreement of global standards has made aviation a safer way to travel. With the economy now stabilize, domestic air traffic is estimated by various sector experts and observers to grow by up to 180 million passengers and global traffic are expected to raise by 50 million passengers by 2020. Global traffic is expected to grow at a normal annual Rate of 8 percent by 2013 and by 7 percent from 2014 to 2023. Domestic traffic will experience as lower growth rate of 3.4 percent annually until 2013 and increase to an average rate of 8 percent until 2023. Global traveler growth wills normal 10 percent until 2013 and 9 percent until 2023. Annual growth in domestic and global freight operations is estimated to increase by 4.5 percent and 12 percent annually until 2013. Indian airport infrastructure investment was $5 billion in 2008 and is expected to achieve $9 billion by 2013. Indias aviation sector offer investment opportunities of $200 to $300 billion by 2020. India is self-assured of overcoming provisional economic hurdles in order to continue civil aviation growth.

iv

The current task force replacement offers an investment opportunity of $80 billion, while $30billion will be necessary for airport infrastructure development by 2020. The purpose of the aviation industry is to make accessible superior service to their customers. So service is the most significant product of the industry. This project will attain to provide better the service quality to the travelers. These Flying services of the Indian airlines are divided into three stages (pre-fight, in-fight, Post-fight services) and we found that the traveler of the Indian airlines has satisfied with service quality of Indian airlines. The perception of services quality its consequence has grown in current years for years for two main reasons. Firstly, we are starting to recognize the total concept of service more and are now better talented to define what is meant by quality of service. Supply and demand price elasticity of airline carriers may differ depending on the nature of the industry. For new and promising industries such as the Indian aviation sector, then price elasticity of demand and supply is near perfect. Many people within India had a transformed need for utilizing aviation services because of globalizing their businesses. This demand for the commodity led to fast growth within the sector and increasing numbers of carriers. India's domestic aviation market growth has been the strongest in the world tripling in the past five years, according to IATAs report. India is currently the ninth largest aviation market in the world, according to a RNCOS report Indian Aerospace Industry Analysis. The Government's open sky policy has fascinated many foreign players to enter the market and the industry is rising in terms of both players and the number of aircrafts. Sharing is the expansion of creation a product or service available for use or consumption by a purchaser or business user, with direct means, or with indirect means through intermediaries.
