Conversations in Astrology: What the Venus in Aries Man Is Thinking When He Glances At You, Lustily...

(Photo of a famous Guayasamin work. Courtesy of RWH.) First encounters with strangers of the opposite sex: Running as a junior kicking sand clouds across the beach. As I sprang up on unsuspecting grown beach hotties and gave them their due recognition. STOP!!!!! yelled at the top of my lungs. Surprised laughter. Heart-felt valentines and mother's day cards drawn out in colorful crayon. Love letters to my grade-school honey on wide-rule loose leaf. Honest fun, daring adventures and mischief. What follows is a first hand account of the internal dynamics of the Venus in Aries archetype as experienced by one man - the look and the feel of how this astrological energy placement translates into real lived experience. The Venus in Aries Man is a man whose Venusian relational energies adopt a decidedly direct, perhaps even aggressive approach to the domain of love, desire satisfaction. The Venus archetype represents a powerful instinctual drive. Men are from Mars, Women from Venus, is seductive conceptually because its KISS-ably simple. But (for real for real) both sexes have to deal with Mars AND Venus energies to reap the fullest experience of life, IMO. I like to think of these two planetary energies as essentially :: -@> :: Ay Ray a.k.a. mr.rAy. friday. 25 sept 2009. // rev. thursday. 11 nov 2009.

complementary opposites: two sides on the same coin. And whats a coin without two sides? Venus in Aries man is more than happy to allow a woman space to take charge. Quiet as kept, he gets very excited by this. Under the bluster, he has great respect for women who have the integrity to take themselves seriously and the courage to act on their own positive self-esteem. This is attractive (read HOT!), and we are still talking about Venus after all. He likes to think his partners can match his strongly competitive nature. He may see himself as a macho/alpha male surrounded in a ring of fire, toe-to-toe with his Amazonian counterpart. If so, this match could go all 12 rounds. An interesting side to Aries myths is that in them he's usually countered by Athena, who always seems to get the better hand when they collide on the battlefield. Nevertheless, they still duel. Perhaps they must. They are warriors at heart. And warriors will often test their courage at the cutting edge of anothers sword. What happens when Mr. Venus in Aries spots a woman hes REALLY attracted to? He usually knows early on (like right away). Whether or not shes The One: absolutely perfect for me, soul mate of destiny, is not the first thing that comes to mind. Aries is rather blatantly instinctual, as opposed to Scorpio-style subtlety. Does she excite his passions strongly? Yes? Then he acts on THAT, and lets the rest of the why and the how of what happens later work itself out, later. Of primary significance is what hes experiencing RIGHT NOW. Some call this selfishness, but Aries IS rather childlike even as a grownup. Young at heart, his outlook is that today is a whole new day. He has a short memory for rejection. He jumps into the closed ring like a brash young Ali, at his best in the midst of struggle, thunderous punches exchanged, one or both titans may collapse, and gloves tap at the end. And he expects that hell sleep off the fatigue by the next morning, or afternoon, to give it another go tomorrow. So whats happening in Mr. Venus in Aries world, right now? Allow me to back up a bit and explain something philosophical, first. A womans beauty (or a persons beauty) for him is only partly measured in looks. Yes, looks DO play a significant part in determining with whom he shares affections. Its kinda like a preliminary screening or an application, a mere formality before the main interview where you actually get the job. Ok she passes = he finds her very attractive. He might want to hook up with her, probably, if shes cool, into that, and things work out that way. Hes certainly willing to :: -@> :: Ay Ray a.k.a. mr.rAy. friday. 25 sept 2009. // rev. thursday. 11 nov 2009.

explore his options. But more so, a womans beauty is that her spirit emanates, charging her environment with the essential feminine quality of her soul. Aries is the first sign of the zodiac, right after the last sign of the zodiac, Pisces. Pisces concerns our soulful merger with the cosmos; Aries is where soul becomes spirit again. Reincarnating anew continuously, like the forever innocent exuberance of childhood. So, in Venus in Aries mans world, the impression of his Venus/partner is that She (her energy) seems to radiate from across the room. And thats how the whole attraction cycle-thing sets off. Poor chap. The original sucker of Venus placements, he sometimes can be. His next move is so totally obvious. Yet it remains so refreshingly and totally straightforward. For those lucky women who can see past the mask of maintaining my cool, erudite, smooth-talking charm, tough-guy machismo, or whatever other escape mechanism he invents to shield himself from the fact, can look directly at the soul of their Venus in Aries man and see his affections written clear as daytime. You already know whats really on his mind. So theres no need that he put on a front about it. I mean whats tugging at his chest, like an instant adrenaline shot, is YOU in all your badass, sassy (sexy), feminine glory. Ms. Right radiates confidence. This kind of man feels it instinctively and responds immediately. It's a gut reaction he is usually rather passionate about pursuing, especially when provoked by the right woman. Thats all there is to it. Basically by the end of the day, this is a very macho, in your face Venus placement. Not for the faint-hearted. For better or for worse, he needs to provoke a woman to put forward her best effort at expressing the utmost respect and appreciation for his many affections, in order to maintain his reason for being together in relationship. Remember how she started it, when she showed up transmitting gorgeous and show a sexy confidence too! ;) So what was the brotha to do? Something had to be said. He HAD to make his move right then and there. It just had to be done. Back of his mind, hes saying to himself something like, There is no way Im gonna wait around, only to see her walk off, without me saying something.... So I guess you can almost say, she practically made me do it. Nah! I did it just because. Or, I really wanna grab her by the hand RIGHT NOW and just take her outta here (claim her affections before anybody else gets her). But that might be a little TOO direct. Eh. What the hell?! Its worth a shot For better or for worse in romance Venus in Aries man is more like a romance novel than a layered cake spy story. More like yelling Blackjack! You can pay me now!, than a tactfully concealed poker spread strategically setup to steal the jackpot. :: -@> :: Ay Ray a.k.a. mr.rAy. friday. 25 sept 2009. // rev. thursday. 11 nov 2009.
