Experience an exclusive insiders tour of the

Christ Cathedral Campus

For over 55 years Rev. Robert H. Schullers ministry has been a beacon for Christian faith operating from this very campus, with the extraordinary Crystal Cathedral erected in 1980. Today we, as Catholics, have been given an opportunity to become part of its transformation to serve all Catholics in the Diocese of Orange and around the world. We are blessed to call this impressive campus our spiritual home. Join your fellow parishioners for an escorted tour of the beautiful 35-acre property. Hear an insiders perspective of how the newly named Christ Cathedral will become our new Catholic home and learn how our parish will be part of its transformation. Traces of Grace
Dear Fellow Parishioners; You may have noticed on your way in or out of St. Edward the last couple of weeks a significant painting suspended from the wall of the church near the sacristy area. Your eyebrows may have jumped up when you thought, Gee, where did the pastor acquire such good taste in art? or How long has that been there? Actually it is the sacred artwork of a priest of our Diocese, Fr. Stephen Frost. He is an accomplished painter and sometimes sculptor who is staying with us for a couple of months. If you would like to see more of his work, you can contact him through the parish office. It is a great piece to meditate on in this Lenten season. Well, it has been another wild week for the Universal Church. Pope Benedict has abdicated his Papacy this past Thursday and now the process continues to discover the one who will be our next Pope. I hold out great hope for a Holy Father who will lead us in truly revitalizing our Church. So keep praying! Together in Christ;

Fr Steve Sallot Pastor

Rasgos de Gracia

Queridos feligreses; Habrn notado en estas ltimas semanas por dentro y fuera de la iglesia de San Eduardo unas pinturas expuestas en la pared cerca de la sacrista. Tal vez se sorprendieron y exclamaron! Que buen gusto tiene el Padre para el arte o tambin se preguntaran Desde hace cuanto tiempo esto estaba aqu? En realidad son obras de arte del Pbro. Stephen Frost de nuestra dicesis. El es un talentoso pintor y escultor, l se quedara algunos meses con nosotros. Si a usted le gustara ver un poco mas su trabajo llmenos a la oficina para obtener ms informacin. Sera algo bueno para meditar durante este tiempo de Cuaresma. Pues bien, hemos tenido otra semana de gran revuelo aqu en la iglesia Universal. El Papa Benedicto XVI ha cedido su papado este jueves pasado y ahora el proceso contina para descubrir quin ser nuestro prximo Papa. Yo mantengo la esperanza de que tengamos un Papa que nos conducir a la verdad plena de la Iglesia. As es que mantngase en oracin. Juntos en Cristo;

What is lamentation? It is a human response to pain, a crying out to God in faith until help arrives. Lamentation is found throughout Scripture and is focused on human suffering and injustice as a continuation of Christs suffering. We come together to lament with anyone who is suffering from pain or loss, anyone who stands with others who are suffering, anyone who feels the pain and suffering of the world. Our purest response is hope, love and compassion which in turn empower us to be agents of change for Christ in the transformation of the world. This will be a truly memorable evening, full of music, readings, images and places to weep over the injustices and absurdities of life. Please join us.

Announcing FOR CHRIST FOREVER, our first ever diocesan capital campaign For Christ Forever is our vision to support our Faith, Church and Future. It is an opportunity to put our faith into action and to support our growing Catholic community of 1.3 million people. Our diocesan goal is to raise more than $100 million in cash and pledges by the end of 2013. Pledges made during the capital campaign are to be paid as soon as practical within the following four years. By joining together, we can ensure that the legacy of our faith continues to grow and impact our community and our lives both today and in the decades to come. A key first step in our collective response to meet our Dioceses needs, the campaign will support five key priorities: These include support for our 62 Catholic parishes and centers, Catholic education, priests retirement, Diocesan ministries, and our future Christ Cathedral. For Christ Forever is our opportunity to: Grow in covenant with God and one another Show unity among Orange Countys Catholic faithful Ensure the legacy of our Faith continues to grow today and forever For more information visit our website www.ForChristForever.org

Wade. Norma McCorvey, who was Jane Roe, the plaintiff in the case, never actually had an abortion. Years later she became a pro-life advocate and converted to Catholicism. In a pro-life commercial produced by Virtue Media, McCorvey states, Upon knowing God, I realized that my case which legalized abortion was the biggest mistake of my life. And this feeling of regret and heartbreak is shared by countless women who believed choice was somehow going to solve their problems. Third Sunday of Lent Inviting Married Couples Thursday, March 7 Circle your calendar for an evening of Living Catholic Marriage, a series of topics to enrich marriage by helping husbands and wives communicate better and grow stronger in their faith.
