Importance of

Language and
Music in Creative
Communication

Part I
The Indian languages are scientific, mystic, artistic, philosophical, mathematical, musical
and thus have has been the way to impart knowledge and wisdom verbally. The major
question that is asked about the Indian languages is that why the focus remains on the
verbal and or vocal, but not written. This question has faded the great impact of language
not just in music the way it needs to be classical, but its impact as philosophical. The
Philosophy holds it as a great principle that the written works are putting of thought into
action. Thus many of the philosophers, who wrote books, are not considered
philosophers. It is beyond the Seven Wonders of the World because it includes few of the
greatest philosophers, what about the Aristotle.

As the modern developments took place, the Indian language and music started to change
the classical turned into non-classical and thus the effects of the Ragas have almost lost
the great impact, though many people in India are trying to keep this effect alive on the
farming-the trees, plants and animals-what to say about humans. The music with high
pitch that many people believe makes others dance differs from the classical because it
soothes the brain and one feels in complete rest, the relaxation of soul. The other kinds of
music stimulate the body and one dance believing that it is the real music. Now, we can
take the example of snake. It does not have ears, however it dances with music. Have you
ever noticed what kind of music is it?

Well, it is the music with low pitch-the body vibrator, which makes the snake dance
because of physical sensation, not just the music. Our problem in modern age is same
with language, we read, write, listen and react to it without feeling the essence of the
words that we read or write. What is it? It is the meaning, feeling, thought and concepts
that are hidden in each word. If we sing, we react to music, not just to words as we do in
reading and or writing. Now, this treasure of philosophical wisdom presents in the Indian
and other languages in the world have this prominence of verbal violence as it if it is
noise instead of music.

We do understand that noise and music differ, but how can we do this contrast in speech
and in the written words. Can we convey our feelings in words? However, we can go
closer to the feelings in the music. The similar is true when it comes in the verbal form of
learning. We do not react as if a parrot if we have verbal learning. It may seem an irony
that the parrot learns verbally. However, we are humans and can think, feel and imagine
about what we speak and or write. In the verbal we do not condition ourselves.

You see the music is not just psychology; it is philosophy at the same time. We sing the
words so it is music, and when we think the words it is philosophy. When we think about
every word that flows out of our mouth, we learn to be thinkers, but the method of oral
and vocal learning has decreased leading us to be less philosophical. What does a
philosopher do? How does one think in Philosophy? What is philosophical thinking?

The philosopher does not go after the words, it is not interpretation. The philosopher
finds the thought and idea-wait a minute-the cause of the origin of that thought and idea.

We are very familiar with the word creative thinking. Have we ever thought what
creative thinking is?

Does Thinking need word only?

The music and noise differ; some sounds can create music without words. Similarly some
creativity can make thinking creative. It is the touch of feelings in a scientific way. We
manage the scientific way to sounds and the sound turns into music. If we apply it to our
feelings we can have the scientific feelings. The scientific feelings are the creative part of
thinking. However, if we read, remember and write, we do the same in the interactions-
the effect does not change-it remains the same.

It may be at most communication. However, as we have discussed we cannot convey our

feelings in words, we have gestures and postures to support our communication.
However, we need touch of creativity in it to make it a talk that goes as if we are listening
music. We may listen music without words, so can be possible in the creative
communication. Well, we will discuss it in our next article in the series. Thanks!
