ADDRESSING THE WESTERNIZATION

Towards the world civilization by Islamic science tradition, this motto is now being resounded in every Muslims society who dreams about the revival of Islamic life. The condition that gives peaceful and guaranties them whosoever live under its rules even to those the unbelievers, the life that really keeps the balance of spirit and body, mind and soul in accordance to the natural life of human-beings under the compassionate of the Al-Mighty. Human is an intellectual creature, by this reason Allah gave him the responsibility to rule, to lead and to keep the balance and the maintenance of the world. The instinct and the passion that also given by the Al-Mighty, sometimes make him susceptible to do mistakes or evil acts in his journey of his life. Yet, according to these sets of equipment, man is always fixated by the desire to know everything and to make the innovation, even with the lacking of experience and his restrictiveness to do so. Modernism is one of minds products; it is a concept and inclination to put something in a right and good pattern based on the ratio. This concept of thought will be always acceptable for it is in mutual accord with a sound mind. The characteristic of this idea makes human beings to reach the highest position on this life as well as brings the regulation to this world, and the civilization even born from its womb. But when it reaches the basic principles of faith, it does really need to be filtered since the concept of this discourse is carrying the doctrines of rationalism, empiric, secularism, de-sanctification, non-metaphysic, dichotomy and pragmatism which are very dangerous for ones belief and faith. The other product of thought is postmodernism; it is a concept that critics the way of how modernism runs. It is even more danger for almost entire humanlife aspects. This view is generated from the first one and dominated by liberalism,

pluralism, nihilism, relativism, equality, multi-cultures and un-foundation discourses, which is un-doubtful strikes the most basic and fundamental principles of thought, feeling, even faith. Either modernism or postmodernism are western products which based on their worldview and applied on their life to refuse the doctrines of the church. This unsatisfied attitude arisen from their irrational and pressing doctrines of faith. The un-able-ness and speechless of their pastors and religionist to clarify the doctrines and explain the questions raced along their anxiousness of their religion had become the trigger of these ideas. Westernization, the most recently coming issue exposed great fully of this era, summons up either sympathies or critics of the intellectuals, religionists, even politicians. The debates among them are un-avoided. The characteristics they bring to the discussion are based on each ones worldview and paradigms. For Muslim themselves, many scholars are struggling and striving to encounter and defend the purity of this religion which is also attacked by the discourses mentioned above. While for common people, this condition that they are living in, seem doesnt allow them to take advantage of their own (freedom), and actually this is what they (missionaries) are trying to do and implant in minds. Westernization that expanded almost entire human races, ideologies even religions passing through the space and time, is extremely dangerous considering the Invasion of thought in the progression of civilization matter. The atmosphere created by those whose in charge in such condition is really suppressing the entire umma, not just the scientific activists but also some of Muslim scholars themselves. Not to mention the further causes caused by this issue, the slightest effect risen is also harmful, e.g. the life-style socialization of western in mass-media, the way of thinking in books or articles, etc. These agendas, modernism and postmodernism are running in the time we speak. Those are trying to invade us by all meanings. Many victims have fallen to the traps set by the actors. The post/ modernization in life among the civilizations are a certain thing. As Muslim, the proper thing to do is to take every new thing on its own merits. What is trying to be said is, to not antipathy to the western products since they gave Muslim world many contributions in many aspects. A lot of things needed to be settled.
