In recent weeks we have received calls asking to opt out of the cable assessment. The Assessment is standard for all homes whether they use the service or not. When the community first opened, the developer was able to contract with Cox to install the lines in the area and through that negotiation came the installation and service of basic cable to all homes built from the start point of the contract to the ending point of the contract in 2015. When the contract ends, the Board will determine if it would be in the best interest of the Association to continue with the contract, not renew it or negotiate different terms. Until that time, the fee is assessed on all built lots through the quarterly assessments. Homes do not have an opt out option.
