Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Forthcoming Concerts in St Nicholas

Clermont Chorale, 9th March, 8 pm Trio Mediavale, 12th April, 8 pm

As I write spring is almost upon us.The snowdrops are in full bloom and the crocuses are coming out. We look forward to the rows of daffodils along the M1.The sunny days though cold have been very welcome. I wish to thank Brigitte for doing such a good job in putting the newsletter together, Colin for printing and Eileen and others for distributing them. Work on the Wellington hall continues; the gas central heating is installed and waiting for the gas company to connect the supply; it will be a wonderful addition. Many thanks to the anonymous benefactor who supplied the materials and sponsored the work. The committee have put in many hours meeting influential people to try to get funding to refurbish the second storey. The beginning of Lent was marked by a service of Holy Communion in Ballymascanlan church. As you know, there will be a service every night in Holy Week. Each service is at 8pm except for the service in Bush: this has been organised for 8.30 pm to accomodate a Mothers' Union Service in Dundalk on the same evening. I wonder if I could persuade some of you to attend at least one extra service in a church other than your own during Holy Week. You would of course be welcome to attend all of them. It would be a great opportunity for meeting and mixing. It's a suggestion: I am not attempting arm-twisting ministry! Please remember in your prayers all who are beginning a new phase of their lives: parents with new babies, confirmands preparing for Confirmation, couples planning their weddings and those who have been bereaved. We ask for your prayers for Mary and Johnney who are unwell. Please pray also for their family members and all who are caring for them. We pray also for others who are undergoing tests, treatments and procedures. Once again, may I emphasise how vital it is for you to let me know of parishioners in hospital or ill at home. I dont mind being told several times, its preferable to neglecting someone! Jesus said: Come to me, all who are weary and, burdened and I will give you rest. Every blessing to you all, Richard
