Reflection Paper

What significant insights have you gained from teaching your pupils? As we all know, the process of teaching is a process of continous learning. When we teach others, we are not only spreading our ideas to others but we are also learning at the same time. Teaching about the lessons in Catechism that should be taught to my pupils is not an easy job. It requires patience, confidence, and considerqation to others. As a catechist, I realized that having the values of patience, confidence and consideration are very significant in my routine during catechism class. Having patience is a great value that a personmust possess. I believe that it is difficult for a catechist to teach his students if he is not patient because without patience, he cannot manage the whole class effectively and also the attitude of each of the pupils under to him. Confidence is the key to success in every work and oppunity that we have. In my catechism class, confidence strengthens and helps me to control the entire class. Considereation in every way to others is also important especially in the behavior of my pupils and also in their answers in every activities and discussions. Throgh this, am not only gained insights from teaching my pupils but also I can share my love and concern to my students in my catechism class. How did catechism classes help you in being a better Claretian Student? Catechism Classes help me in being a better Claretian Student in such a way that it gives me a great contribution to my life as a student. It helps me to build my personality in accordance to the mission of our Patron Saint, St. Anthony Mary Claret-to spread the Good News to all people. All the things and realizations that I have will serve as a way to my successful life because these will serve as my steeping stone to my journey in life. Also, the catechism helps me to reflect on life situations while teaching to my pupils and through these reflections. I have gained realizations and learnings that are not common in the four corners of the classroom. What specific core values (CHEERS) are manifested during your catechism classes? Explain how these values are manifested? The Claretian Core Values that are being manifested during our catechism class are the values of compassion, humility and service. As one of the instruments of God, I must be compassionate and be sensitive to my pupils in order for me to understand them better especially in dealing with them in Catechism class.Humility is also manifested in such a way that as a class, we must open our minds and hearts in taking courage to acceptour limitations and weaknesses. We humble ourselves to accept our strenghts and taking our pride to accept others in our libes. Giving my quality time and sharing my knowledge in catechism to my pupils is my best way of rendering my service to them as their friend and catechist.
