La docente ingresa al saln y saluda a los estudiantes. Luego toma la asistencia. Se da inicio a la sesin
mostrndoles una fotografa del aeropuerto JKF y hacindoles las siguientes preguntas:

- What is the name of Limas airport? What is the name of Arequipas airport?
- Do you know what the name of New Yorks airport is?
- What is an abbreviation? Is JFK an abbreviation? Who is JFK the abbreviation? Who was JFK?

Despus les muestra el documento icnico-textual e inicia su explotacin (Anexo N 02 ejercicio N 1).
A medida que se desarrolla la explotacin del documento, los alumnos debern responder las
siguientes preguntas (Anexo N 03).

El vocabulario, que surge durante el desarrollo de la sesin, ser escrito en el margen izquierdo; mientras
que el aspecto cultural ser escrito en el margen derecho de la pizarra.
Inmediatamente despus de las respuestas obtenidas, la docente realiza la recapitulacin de las mismas:
So, we can see that there is a photograph of a woman and five paragraphs. There are also three means
of transport: a taxi, a train and a subway. Maybe this text is about means of transport.

Enseguida, la docente indica a los estudiantes que van a escuchar el dilogo para completar los espacios
en blanco.

Luego la docente indica a los estudiantes que lean el prrafo que se encuentra debajo de la fotografa.

Despus indica a los estudiantes que respondan las siguientes preguntas:

A continuacin, la docente indica a los estudiantes que lean los prrafos restantes y completen la siguiente
tabla (Anexo N 02 ejercicio N 2).

Luego la docente realiza las siguientes preguntas:

- What is the way number 1?
- What is the way number 2?
- What is the way number 3?
- What is the way number 4?
A medida que los estudiantes responden las preguntas anteriores, la docente escribe en la pizarra solo lo
que los estudiantes le indican para elaborar el siguiente cuadro:
You can take a taxi.
You can take a subway (the A train) to Howard Beach-JFK Station and then a bus to the aiport
terminal.
You can walk through Central Park to the Museum of Natural History. From there, you can take the
subway to Howard Beach-JFK Station and then an Air Train to the JFK Airport Station.
You can take a subway to Grand Central Station. From there you can take the New York Express Bus.

CONCEPTUALIZACIN

Enseguida la docente dirige la atencin de los estudiantes hacia sus respuestas escritas en la pizarra, con
la finalidad de que determinen la funcin del can para expresar la posibilidad de hacer algo.
Look at the sentences.
- What word can you find in all the sentences?
- What does can express in all the sentences? Does can express ability or possibility?
- If can express possibility, what does cant express?
- What does could express? What does couldnt express?
So, we use can to say that it is possible to do something and we use cant to say that it is impossible
to do something.
Luego se indica que realicen el ejercicio nmero 1 de la pgina 56 del libro.
