II. Professional Information:


1- Overall aim of the course:
The aim of the course is to develop enhanced skills and understanding of the crown technology applications so that the graduate is competent in the use of different crown and bridge laboratory techniques including the advanced ones. It is also intended that the graduate will be more aware of the necessity for life-long learning and will also have enhanced communication skills.

2- Intended Learning Outcomes of the course ( ILOs): A: Knowledge and understanding of:
1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. Group discussion of cases. Dental material science relevant to crown & bridge. Describe the different laboratory steps for different types of fixed prostheses. Different crown and bridge Laboratory procedures. The advanced laboratory technique in crown and bridge construction. Current infection control procedures and their scientific basis. Research methodologies.

Use laboratory equipment during fixed partial denture construction. Perform laboratory procedures with understanding of biomaterials related to the prosthesis and have competent dexterity and skill for performing laboratory procedures in crown & bridge.
